Ive noticed this in the few hours i've been a memeber, but there seemes to be alot of signetures ((includeing my own)) that have RENT, the musical/movie, lyrics in them. So who on here likes RENT?

Yeah… Basically, I made a comment to my mom that I wanted to watch the movie The Lord of the Dance because it has girls in tights dancing in it (Lord of the Dance is this musical/dancing show/play from Ireland that my mom and dad have on VHS), and my mom laughed and said that I was a “horny bitch.”

When I first received Daphne Rubin-Vega's latest CD, Redemption Songs, I went into it thinking it'll be good to catch up on her latest project. But I quickly realized that wasn't the proper mindset.

While I had seen her perform in both Rent and the Rocky Horror Show, this CD was technically her project, reflecting her choices, tastes and personality, and not another situation where she was hired to perform and sing in a certain way.

And, apparently, left to her own devices, Rubin-Vega wants to rock.

First time ever playing Kingdom Hearts and I must say its fun. Although A long time ago my mum spilled soda on my controller so the buttons keep sticking so I'm getting angry at it. I kept trying to hit the little shadow thingys and nothing would happen. Since I tend to throw things when I get mad I am now watching Rent, with my cats.

I absolutely love cats, and dogs, and horses come to think of it but the cats are the only ones allowed in the house. I have five total in the house and two outside. My three children are all orange tabbies I bottle fed so their very affectionate and love to cuddle. There are two boys and a girl, Noah, Rex, and Baby cat. Then the two others are Angel(a tortoise shell) and Stormy(grey and white patches with dark gray stripes in the light gray). Stormy is my brothers cat but she makes too much noise when hes sleeping or something so I've adopted her.

Most people who have heard about Rent have likewise heard vaguely of a man named Jonathan Larson, the show's sole creator. In fact, more often than not, an article or feature regarding Rent makes more than a passing mention of the librettist/songwriter/lyricist, who passed away the night before his masterpiece had its first public previews in its final form. The heartwarming story of Rent's success is simultaneously the tragic story of Jonathan Larson's death and the emotional story of Jonathan Larson's life.

Rent has changed the lives of many of its audience members. Its messages of hope and life-affirming spirit are felt and remembered by everyone who has ever attended the show.

Anthony Rapp, the only openly queer cast member, serves as the narrator for the rock musical. Prior to Rent, he starred in such successful movies as Adventures in Babysitting, Dazed and Confused, Twister (look fast!), but Rent has occupied his life since he performed as Mark in the 1994 Theater Workshop version of Rent. He also has the difficult task of portraying the character most associated with Jonathan Larson, the show's creator who died the night before the first public preview Off-Broadway.
