Prologue: Togetherness
"Sara Joanne Morris and Jacob Nash Mackensie you have been found guilty of the crime of unlawful sexual conduct with the opposite gender. Your sentence for this crime is death by fire. Do you have any last words before the burning comenses?"
"One." Sara spoke calmly from the stake she was tied to. A furnace churning and pouting below her feet.

My woeful sapphic life
so hidden and tragic, yet so free
she is my ungotten fruit
and muse
I do not know why, but I have had this insatiatable craving of creating poetry all day. It might possibly be because of my own discovery of a few poems I had done a couple months back, very random poems, that perfectly and appropriately fit my favorite poetic prose style known as Sapphic Stanza.
Have you every thought, "I want a sex change...or do I?"

Last ngiht I went to see Tegan and Sara live in concert when they were in my city. IT WAS THE BEST THING EVER! I have to say I went in with minimal expectations, because so many people suck live, but they were amazing. I like them even better live than on CD. :) I sang along to almost every song and by the end of the night I was losing my voice. Definately the best time I've had in a while.
The World Unseen is a lesbian interest movie with a difference. Based in 1950's South Africa when racial segregation was the norm
The World Unseen is an raw love story that features a lesbian restaurant proprietor who falls in love with an Indian South African housewife

'if you stay out here in the cold all night, you'll die.' you said, taking my hand in yours, bringing my fingers to your lips. 'your hands are like ice.' i didn't look up at you because, although my hands may have been cold, your touch made the rest of me catch on fire.

When I woke up this morning I didn’t realize I'm gay, I’ve known that for some time now; but what I did realize is that slowly but surely the world is becoming more accepting of gays and lesbians. What more could I ask for? Well if you have read any of my previous posts you’ll know I strive for equal rights. I wish like hell I could have been in DC this past weekend for the march for equality, but since I was unable to make it I am thankful for everyone who showed up and voiced their opinion.

Anyone seen "Mango Kiss?" I have seen most but not all. From what I saw it was great. Damn it was funny! And I tell ya what I could relate to those women. If you want to watch a preview check out the link below.

How many people like the movie "Chicago?" I can't seem to get enough! Not to mention, the soundtrack is simply amazing!
I don't have much to mention except that since I am on the topic of pop culture...well kind of; I really like Melissa Ferrick and her song "Drive." ;) Surely a lesbian or two knows that song, right?

Now I don't give out free bowls of soup or anything for joining; but I will offer the following list in return:
1. Video updates, some of which will be funny and some of which are meant to inform.
2. Blog updates pertaining to current LGBT issues that have sparked a general interest in me and should be shared with others; and blog posts that are of little to no relevancy to the LGBT community but are of interest to me and deserve to be shared.
3. An updated "Links of interest" section which shares links to sites within the LGBT community that I have found to be helpful.

So has anyone heard of the music artist Emily Wells? I think she is 100% wonderful! And of course she is a lesbian and an attractive one at that! But that is neither here nor there, but her music on the other hand is worth checking out, especially if you like indie or experimental music. She is in a category of all her own. Anyway, stop by my site and check her out if you get a chance...great stuff!

BTW Julie and Julia is a GREAT movie! Worthy of seeing for sure!

If you're interested in fall TV (and most are) you should check out this link which will direct you to upcoming fall TV shows which have at least one lesbian character. The list is large, from Wanda Sykes having her own late night show, to Shane from the L Word playing in a TV series =)

Does anyone have any suggestions on any good gay and lesbian themed books worthy of reading?
-Chels

Well, Gay Center, actually, but they've got a youth drop-in place, according to their website. I'm thinking of going there tomorrow morning. It's only a short subway ride away, and my mom will probably buy the "going for a long walk on the lakefront" excuse, or maybe I could bike over there and just label it as a bike ride. Problem is, I can't figure out when the hell they open, and I'd feel like an idiot if I got there and the place was closed. But hey, most places are open by like 10:30 / 11, right? Right. I'm nervous.

Hello to those interested! I recently opened a website dedicated to LGBT communities. I have an active blog, videos, links, pop culture section, a forum, and free membership. If you're interested check it out!

If you're out there, this journal does not do justice.
I realized I liked you when I kissed you.
I realized I cared for you when I burned you with a glue gun.
I realized I adored you when I saw you skate.
And now that we've been apart so long, I realize I might love you.
