So, our school (private, all-girls) doesn't have a GSA or anything like that, but I'm organizing our Day of Silence (which is Friday, April 17th, for all who don't know). Check out the website if you haven't heard of it: . :)
It's an awesome event, and I wondered: how are any of you observing it at your schools? What kind of events are there?

Sooooo. Day of Silence. (Wiki if you're not familiar.) Yeahhhh. Day of Silence is a great thing. I did it last year. I really want to do it this year. I'm going to take it to the next level and not write notes, not communicate at all.
"Please understand my reasons for not speaking today. I am participating in the Day of Silence, a national youth movement protesting the silence faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people and their allies. My deliberate silence echoes that silence, which is caused by harassment, prejudice, and discriminaton. I believe that ending the silence is the first step toward fighting these injustices. Think about the voices you are not hearing today."

so i finally ended things with my ex best friend/girl who was dating a guy but still wanted to get with me.... as dana on the l word put it so well "are you trying to have your cake and eat your pussy too?" basically she got mad at me but i don't really care.... i wasn't going to do that to her boyfriend or to myself... not cool....

I feel kinda nerdish for making a big fuss about the Day of Silence. I'm excited, but scared about it. To get to the point, I'm hoping to organize the first ever DOS at my high school. We don't have a GSA, but we have students interested in forming one. The counselor that is guiding us in requesting a GSA will be the one i will talk to about the Day of Silence.
