Guns Couldn't Do Better

Tears forge sparkling rivers as
They crash under gravity
Streaming down in cursive
Maneuvers of the heart
Revealing words never to
Address a certain ear
A hollowness resides
Where our brotherhood
Burned in refuge
An inferno of hope
Once Mad with cries
Of a resolute dreamer
Wailing glory till
A dawn deluged
The velvet night
And how those tones
Echoed down a
Dreamer’s spine
I heard once that

It's journal time! Some relationship advice would be snazzy, yo.

Hmmm...I haven't written one of these in a while. So, here's the dealio, yo, for whoever's interested. I'm actually kinda getting a love life! Huzzah! It's complicated though, as all matters in love ineluctably become. So there's this guy I really like and I think he's returning the favor. He told me before that he had a crush on me, so I made my move...

The plot thickens, maties. My school's homecoming dance is in a week.

The Perfect Crime

In the soprano winds
Lacerating the
Naked trees
A strange beauty
Lay
Sheathed in frigid tones
Floating on
The fringes of existence
In one
Moment perceptible
And the next
Ashes of fantasy
Subtly
Desperate and
Proudly eloquent
Channeling poetry
In the dreamer’s ear
With
A silent tongue and
Invisible
Eyes
Beseeching
The vagrant soul
Searching for
A thought to call beauty
A pride to call home

Night-Self

The moon-beams
Infiltrate the canopy
Painting platinum mosaics
On the gasping ground
Woven
In the lullaby
Of fall’s chill breath
Nursing the world
Back to grateful slumber
As the world
Rocks
And sways
To atmospheric cadence
Whistling an
Austere tune
While it plummets
Through the dark between
The branches and
The chasms in my corneas
Frigid fingers
Flutter in my fantasy
Grazing my skin with

Musical Miracle

The sound-waves will
Carry me home tonight
On melodious wings
Dancing in cadence to
My pulsing heart
In a cocoon
Of sound I find comfort
Swirling in gorgeous tone
An undulating mass
Of electric
Freedom flying
Lattice-works of rainbows
Flitting through atmosphere
And filling with the sound
Of freed beauty
And the sound is
Just so impossible
Taunting infinity
With its blazing cries of

Summer Symphony

The purple night succumbs to diamond rays
Adeptly slicing through the shadow-cloud
At zenith governing in onyx haze
When the air lay subdued in somber shroud
Alive in lunar bliss and quiet fear
Till the sun gently rockets toward first light
It sweetly ruptures vespertine veneer
Seducing the sky as the world ignites
The halo swimming from horizon far
A blossom now triumphant in repose
My eyes, enraptured by this gorgeous star

Red

By and by and
Low and low
The memories fade
Like a shirt
Gone through one too many
Wash cycles in my eyes
And your words
They settle
To acoustic dust
Only disturbed from
Melodic slumber
By the explosions of my
Tears
Spelling out your name
In desperate, cursive letters
Your name is a specter
Haunting my frightened
Neurons blasting
Leaping, electric thorns shed
From your persistent rose

Going, Going, Gone

The days rush in
Anticipation
Of the inevitable
Before the miles swallow you
In quiet separation
We say our goodbyes
And surrender to the tears
Invading our bodies
The memories dance in time
On the soul’s cinema now
Brimming at the matinee
Emotions travel through an embrace
Orbiting through this bloody circuit
Around the percussion of our hearts
And these vessels
They part
A flash of tooth and

Mamma Mia, I'm gay!

Guess who came out to their mom today? No, not Maya Angelou. Me! Yay! I wanted to spend the night at a gal pal's house tonight and my mom said no since she didn't want me spending the night with girls. An hour or so later I asked her again and questioned, "Would you let me spend the night if I told you I were gay?" she said no again, not understanding the implied message, lol, so I also had to ask, "If it were the truth?" Then I had to explain to her for about five minutes why I think I'm gay, but to no avail; she doesn't believe me. She said several times, "I just don't think you are," and that was hella annoying. I hate it when people tell you how YOU are feeling when they're obviously not you! So my mom's pretty much in denial. She thinks maybe I should get "professional help." Psssht, I like guys and not girls, I don't need to spend money for someone else to tell me that. I'll just give her time; I think she'll come around eventually. She was raised in a time when things were a lot different and she just has to realize that things indeed have changed. There is a funny part to all of this, though! She told me, "I think you've been watching too much...(trying to think of "Queer Eye," I believe) "Trading Spaces." lol! Oh yeah, because "Trading Spaces" is ALL about gay people! haha I'm glad and proud of myself that I can joke about this because when I came out to my dad I was a mess! Yuck. Well, that's the end of my tale, arrivederci!

This is Inspiring

Under solar tutelage the morning dew shimmers
Fiercely exploding in amber defiance
Against the sea of chlorophyll-stained blades
Washing the landscape in emerald sovereignty
Like a beryl galaxy crowding the earth
Alive and organic under the sighs of wet stars
Flashing when they embrace an errant ray
Released from the sun’s atomic bow
The flowers pop brilliantly from the verdant backdrop

This is What we Live For

When the sun breaks the cold durance of the night
And the light calls you home to salvation
Then you’ll know I’m there
In essence eternal caressing your tears
And soothing your pain laden heart
Like a boat filling fast
I’ll bail you out
I’ll save you
I’ll love you
But do this for me first
This wish upon a star
Hold my hand
When darkness breaks the front lines
And the light a prisoner of war

I'm a Human Battery Charged with Emotion

A couple days ago I experienced one of the worst days of my life.

Guess whose tennis coach will be moving to Orlando in a month?

A) Barbara Walters
B) Saddam Hussein
C) Mary the janitor
D) Me

The correct answer would be...drum roll please...D for damn it, why must these things happen to me? Because it's all part of the bigger picture, that's why. Because we're all like puppets in fate's cruel hands. Do you really think that just because we can make our own decisions and do what we want we're free? No, that's not freedom. I'll tell you what freedom is. Freedom is invincibility. The zap of electricity across a neuron that sounds faintly like, "Nothing can touch me." But by definition humans can never be free because we can never be invincible. This sinew falls prey to the simplest of nature's mechanisms. And this soul succumbs to a scrap of the horrifying beauty of despair. But there's a secret I'm going to let you guys in on. Please, do tell anyone. If you listen even harder to that freedom-spark's flight across the brain, you can dimly perceive a new juxtaposition of consonants and vowels,
