I am sorry for my absence these last few weeks. I have had an incredibly busy / crazy time, which included travelling to a foreign country, losing a laptop, having my internet connection cut off, teaching a 5 day course and losing two weeks of work I was already behind on due to said laptop crash.

I am going to be posting here a lot more , since I feel I finally have stuff to say here again =)

Hey guys. It's been a while.

My laptop died today =( So i am even further behind on work than I was to begin with.
It might be a while before I am back for good =\

Anyway. One of the things I have written on here before, was my first crush. He was one of my best friends in high school, and for many years I had a secret pining for him. Everything came to a head one year over new year's eve, when I was at a friend's place for a NYE party, and I had had too much to drink.

I've finally watched the first season of The L Word.

I like Shane the most. She is so cool.

Rarely do I come across a site that has such a sheer emotional hold over me. The only thing that comes close is PostSecret

and having just paid 8 euro for an hour's of internet access, i feel kind of obliged to use it.

the only reason I _really_ have my laptop out is because i managed to completely run down my ipod batteries, while the thing wasn't even plugged in. D'oh.

my next flight (to vancouver) is thankfully a little shorter (10.5 hours as opposed to 12), but there's no meal on board and i have already finished the book i was reading (player of games by iain m banks).

I guess that means i HAVE to go shopping to pick some things up =)

It was very very very good. The acting, especially from Heath Ledger was phenomenal.

Having read the short story, I doubted the pretty boy's ability to pull off a very
emotionally troubled Ennis Delmar, but he managed fantastically.

mostly because I was looking for someone who did a story of what would happened if the story had a different ending. The human interest story on there is incredibly well written and very highly recommended.

Yesterday afternoon at 3pm table mountain caught fire, and the wild fire is still raging.

I actually live on the mountain (as in my back gate walks on to it).

It was fucking scary, as several homes were destroyed and at least one person has died. For a few hours we were the next to be evacuated, but VERY luckily the fire burned in the other direction. It stopped LITERALLY 2km from our house.

Three days ago I decided that I was going to get off my ass and learn to play an instrument, the acoustic guitar actually.

Then I came home from my trip these last few weeks, to find out that my housemates had won a $900 acoustic guitar, and that there's a guy 2 blocks down the road from me =).

Yay.

I wish that my lawn was Emo, so that it would cut itself.

I spoke to her boyfriend, and it's apparently not quite as severe, but it's definitely a heart condition. She is at the hospital with the specialist at the moment, and I am trying to track down my brother and will probably be flying up to johannesburg in the next day.

I have recieved a few compaints about spam, and I have just recieved one myself, using the private message system on oasis magazine.

I will disable any person sending spam via the private message module, and in the future, I will likely be limiting access to the private message module until you have been a member for a certain amount of time , or something.
