And the debacle begins.

Homecoming is approaching, which is rather stressful.

I have had to wear a dress for the past 2 years and it has been hell.

What I want to do is wear slacks, white shirt, and tie but alas, my mother disapproves.

She says I can wear pants, but they have to be dressy. Aka girly.

clothes have always been an issue between us and I think it's ridiculous. I know she wants me to look my best, but is it too much to ask for being both comfortable and look good?

When I wear dresses or skirts, I feel so uncomfortable... I just want to crawl out of my skin.

Very awesome.

My friend, Joe, came out to me yesterday.

I wasn't really surprised because he's kinda flamboyant, but it was still really sweet.

Now I actually have another gay friend! Yes!

I'm pretty sure I'm the only one he's told so far which is kinda cool.

He's a really cool dude and I'm happy we're good enough friends for him to come out.

Right now, he's at christian camp (not having lots of fun there lol) but he comes back the 1st.

When he comes back we're going to watch all the Degrassi's he's missed while he was gone.

The good, the bad, but not the ugly.

I just watched the premiere of Out with Dad, a webseries I found.

http://www.outwithdad.com/

I encourage you to check it out. It's pretty great. The rest of the series looks promising.

What doesn't look promising is the whole Pretty Little Liars fiasco.

(This might contain spoilers so if you want to watch the show or missed an episode, beware.)

First of all, what the hell??

Maya is gone for one episode and all the sudden, Toby is making mixed CD's with hand drawn cover art?

I'm sorry, but I didn't sign up for the lesbian to fall for the creeper disguised as a vampire.

One more thing...

Whilst surfing on the Anyone But Me website, I found a link to this awesome site...

http://www.autostraddle.com/autostraddle-calendar-girls/

I haven't gotten to explore the rest of the site yet, but it looks really gay. (In a good way :)

Also, if you don't know what Anyone But Me is, it's a web series that shows an actually lesbian relationship.

Not a crappy, sweeps week relationship TV execs use to get ratings.

It treats it not as a "lesbian" relationship, but as a real relationship with real problems.

There are two seasons and they are working on the third.

Anyone wanna reccommend some good books?

I'm going on vacation next week and I need at least 3 books to keep me occupied on the long driving part of the trip.

Any books? I'm willing to read anything and everything. :)

In other news...

Today, I'm deciding to watch the first season of Avatar: The Last Airbender.

I forgot how awesome this show was!

Used to watch it all the time... It's freaking hilarious.

I love Appa and Momo the most. Flying bison and lemurs. Just awesome.

*swift segue*

Yesterday at the library, I was volunteering. Just sitting at my table and guess who walks thorough the door?

A quick post...

My driving instructor is a die-hard Republican.

He called me a Socialist and tried to convince me that Obama is Hitler and hates Jews, that Bush was this country's greatest pres, and that the BP spill was caused on purpose.

Completely outrageous.

Any thoughts? I almost punched him whilst I was driving because I was so pissed at him.

Who is sick of these crazy-ass Republicans??

Summer. But also some ranting.

So this whole summer thing is pretty okay.

I like getting to do what I want for a whole day. Alone. It's very enjoyable.

But, some days I want to hang out with a girl who I could call my girlfriend.

It's the only thing that I think about. At any given time, 60% of my brain is being used to think about girls, 20% is thinking about food, and the other 20% is thinking about all the stresses that are currently in my life.

Every time I see a movie, read a book, or listen to a great song I think how I wish I could share it with someone who would appreciate it.

A more postive journal this time, I promise.

So my last journal was just depressing.

Today was a much better day.

I started it by finally cleaning my room and bathroom. This is quite an accomplishment because normally my parents have to beg and order me to clean both. lol.

Another good thing, my mom is recovering from her gallbladder surgery very well. That was a source of anxiety but she's all good. :)

I went to my old drum teacher to help me prepare for my upcoming audition. That was an excellent decision. It helped me so much.

Now I have a little bit more confidence.

Anxiety.

Lots of things have been frustrating me lately.

Mostly school. All of my finals are this week and next week. Needless to say, all that studying is wearing me out.

I had my Algebra 2 final (part 1) today. Most of it wasn't what I had studied. Hardly at all... It sucked is what I'm trying to say.

Then after school, I had my piano audition. I'm not actually auditioning for anything, but I play a few songs for a judge and I get graded on them.

I didn't do so well. I had to start over my first song, I had lots of mistakes, and my confidence was absolutely shot by the end.

http://www.advocate.com/News/Daily_News/2010/05/17/Maddow_Delivers_Smith...

Above is Rachel Maddow's Commencement speech for the class of 2010 at Smith College.

I thought it was clever, witty, and inspiring.

Her advice really does ring true with me.

"If given the choice between fame and glory, choose glory. Glory has a way of sneaking up on fame and stealing it's lunch money later on anyway."

That might not be an exact quote but you get the idea.

Please listen to the speech, even if you have never heard her speak. She is truly amazing.

Right now, I'm watching a College Softball game with my dad.

We are commenting on how hot the girls are and how awesome it would be to play college ball.

Also how fun college softball games are. :D

Oh, I'm also checking out dates for Pride in Columbus and surfing AfterEllen.com...

Broadway Kids anyone?

My family is having a garage sale and everything is in huge piles in my garage.

I was looking through an old box CD's and I found one of my favorites.

The Broadway Kids CD that I've been wanting to listen to for ages.

When I was little, I listened to the same three CD's on the way to and from school and this was one of them.

So when I popped it in, I knew every single lyric to every song.

If you aren't familiar, the Broadway Kid's sing songs from classic Broadway shows like Les Miz and Annie.

I was obsessed with this CD when I was in elementary school.

Weird Happenings.

Today I had the first softball tournament game. We lost, naturally.

But that's not the important part of the story.

Early before the game, we had a little batting practice.

I found a little purple ribbon stuck to the fence. I remembered that my Crush had lost one of her's earlier so I kept it.

Part of me didn't want to return it and be a creepy stalker but I ended up giving it back.

She was really excited to get it back which made me happy but alas I got no hug.
