One of the kids at my school went out swimming at the beach Sunday night. He went under and hasn't been seen since; presumed dead.

This is the second person from our class to die this year.

It's so scary. He seemed so invincible; we all keep expecting him to walk back into school, thermos in hand, laughing at how stupid we all were to think he could be dead.

On Thursday, I was a dumbass and brought mistletoe to school. I mean, it's festive, right? And a girl can dream.
So my friends and I were playing with it at lunch - sticking it in random lockers and above doors, putting it in our hair, etc.

We ended up waltzing around to Iris, then watching RENT after A went home.

Probably best to start with backstory. There's a girl I like (I think Cat_in_Halves has called her "squid girl"; I've talked about her before) of unknown sexuality. Rather than ask her out and make things awkward, I started putting anonymous notes in her locker (secret admirer, nothing creepy).

My dad found the list of people who contributed to the Yes on 8 campaign. He has e-mailed the list around to my family so they can blacklist anyone who supported Prop 8.

The girl I've been crushing on lately is...geeky. In that adorable way, or should I say, adorkable? Anyway, she's really into math, and she reads XKCD.

You know that XKCD comic, with the "my normal approach is useless" and has the derivative of a heart, the square root of a heart, cosine of a heart, etc. ?

I cut it out and stuck it in her locker.
