Justin comes out on Ugly Betty

Justin came out on Ugly Betty last night, and this is one of the sweetest, most subtle handlings I've seen on TV. If you want to catch up on the story line, check the four previous videos documenting the lead up to last night's episode by clicking this video and seeing the previous videos uploaded by this same user.

The writers, producers, ABC, and of course, Mark Indelicato all deserve a lot of credit for something so beautiful:

Gavin Creel: Interview

By Jeff Walsh

This past Saturday, Gavin Creel was in New York City, talking to me on the phone.

18 hours after this interview, a car picked him up early in the morning, and took him to the airport, where he boarded a jet to London. In a few weeks, he and the rest of the Broadway tribe of Hair will open the show in the West End. Creel was Tony nominated for his turn as Claude, the conflicted hippie who has to decide what's important for him as the summer of love overlaps with the Vietnam War.

I reviewed the show back in January, but didn't realize at the time that Creel was openly gay. Having figured that out at some later point, we had a few interview attempts, but our schedules weren't lining up.

With the clock ticking on how long Creel would be on American soil, before bringing his magical show of peace and love to London, we finally made it happen. Here's what we said:

Jay Nicolas Sario: Interview

By Jeff Walsh

I was surprised to find out that, despite watching the show for many years, I've never interviewed a Project Runway contestant for Oasis before. This year, I was interested to talk with Jay Nicholas Sario, who lives in San Francisco, works for The Gap, and as of this writing, is still going strong on the show. We set up the interview recently through the show's publicist, only to discover that we work within a block of one another. Jay jumped on the phone call just as my automated corporate teleconference voice announced that the call was being recorded. He immediately jumped in.

Oh no... I'm nervous!

But there's no video?! They video'd you on Project Runway. This is just audio and it's not even going to be broadcast.

OK.

Latest journal entries.

And So It Begins...

I'm pretty new at the entire blog scene... I'm guessing it sorta works like an online journal... rants, secrets, all that jazz go in here or something right?
Well... I have nothing much to say at the moment... since we've been hit with a huge snow storm and have been snowed in since Monday... we've been off since last Friday and so on and so forth... hopefully we get of Friday as well... I'm sorta sitting on a raft in the middle of nowhere (in my mind) right now, so.... until next time

A new beginning...

Nothing will change that much as far as what I do here, except all of my diary entries and such will now be on my personal site.

Tom of Finland

I've fallen in love with Tom of Finland. Lads, chech him out, he's a very dirty bit of gay history.

YAY!!!! And other shit.

Hehe....My crush and me are going out now. Rachael is my best friend and now she's my girlfriend, too. But she's dating Josh and Daniel, too. Daniel knows about me, but Josh doesn't know about either of us. Lol...

I wrote James a letter. I really regret breaking up with him back at Christmas. :( I think I fell in love with him over then, but didn't realize it. But he's going out with Stacy, my ex-best friend.

Ugh updated

I need a man. I need someone to be romantically involved with. At school everyday I see these guys that I think are gay/bi and I wish that they would just come out of the freaking closet. Then I remind myself that I, too, am in the closet. I want to come out to my school so badly, but I don't know how long I'll be able to carry the burden of being the only "out" person there. I was giving blood at my school's biannual blood drive and I sat next to a friend whom I see rarely anymore and she asks if there are any girls in my life. I wanted to tell her that I was gay because I knew she would be okay with it, but I was worrying about everyone around me freaking out, or worse yet, the nurses ripping the IV out of my arm and accusing me of having AIDS.
