Wilson Cruz: Angel in America

When Oasis last talked to Wilson Cruz two years ago, he mentioned that My So-Called Life wouldn't be the last we'd see of him.

And, in passing, he mentioned how much he would like to perform in a Broadway play, among his list of other career goals.

Well, audiences are about to see a whole new side of Cruz as the HIV-positive drag queen Angel in the La Jolla, Calif. cast of Rent (which will tour, starting in Los Angeles). He dropped the weight My So-Called Life made him gain to look younger for the show, shaved the goatee you may have seen and, in his own words, is "pretty damned beautiful" in women's clothes. (The cast hasn't taken publicity photos yet, so we can't show you the results).

RENT Review

Review by Patrick Martin

"How do you connect in an age where strangers, landlords, lovers, your own bloodcells betray? What binds the fabric together when the raging, shifting winds of change keep ripping away?" -- "Rent", from the rock opera Rent

"Rent rent rent rent rent.....," as the multicultural chorus of 15 blares out at the climax of the violently powerful opening number of Jonathan Larson's amazing rock opera Rent, which has taken American theater by storm. "...everything is rent."

Starting a new ecosystem in the age of AIDS

By Jeff Walsh

In the opening shot of David Lynch's movie "Blue Velvet," an idyllic suburban home is descended upon by the camera. Warm, rich colors of green grass, a white picket fence and a happy Technicolor couple fill the screen. The camera never stops descending, though. As it continues down, it goes into the soil and thousands upon thousands of screeching bugs fill the screen, leaving the viewer with the sense that things are never as simple as they appear on the surface.

Maybe One, Perhaps

This journal will be mostly a rant... Well founded I say, so lets begin. I can't stand people who think a Classical or "nylon string" guitar can be strung with steel strings. Whoever does this is either uninformed or reckless. It compromises the integrity of the; tuners, nut, frets, bridge and saddle. Not to mention it will sound like a dying animal when played.

I'm going to spend my summer with the girl I like. I want to get to know her better and see how well we can get along. Just in case we end up together or something like that. She's shy and blushes easily. I think it's adorable. She's different than most girls that I've met. Daisy has this uniqueness about her from the minute you start talking to her. That's how I got so reeled in. If we don't have that spark, then I'm fine with just being friends. I have no idea what to say, but...

Let the adventures begin... <3

Families Are Weird.

My graduation ceremony was May 31. It's been unbearably rainy here for a few months, so we had to have the ceremony inside the middle school gymnasium, which really, really sucked. It was hot, sticky, and cramped. It took me half an hour after the ceremony to find my family because thousands of people were swarming every inch of the building. Luckily, even though there were a little over 500 hundred people in my graduating class, graduation only took about an hour and a half, maybe a bit more. I'm just glad it's over and done with.

Computer help?

Hey guys can anyone help my computer illiterate ass translate the below paragraph, so I can patch a game I want to buy. If anyone else is part of the Monster Girl fandom they probably will know about or will want this game also. :P Shelby you might want to look at this one... if you don't know about it already.

Unrar the contents of the .rar to your game directory (It’s the directory that contains mon_que.exe). Overwrite all files it asks to overwrite. Depending on where you downloaded the game itself from, it may have already been pre-patched.
