You are tired of your heart, explicitly unconscious and uncaring, and it makes the blood become easy, an ache swarming below skin. They look at those sweet white little scars that cradle ill-fated imaginings, they whisper from the hallway: "therapy treatments" or "too fucking fragile".

I've never heard that album, actually.
Are these lyrics from one of the songs on Opiate, or did you make this? Because it really seems like something Maynard would write.
No, I don't listen to Tool.

Thank you
Wonderful wording,
and kind of creepy in a way.

I wrote this about someone I know who's in the hospital from doing heroin
And yet... your empathy is evident!
However... do you long for friends holding alternative ideals?
Note: I specifically avoided "higher ideals"... which may have suggested a "values" judgment which would have been atypically presumptive on my part...
I think I would long for
I think I would long for anyone not being in the hospital/breaking out because they decide that the only thing good in life is doing heroin and that without it, they're worthless.
I don't think anyone should have a friend tell them that once they get enough money they're going to buy enough heroin to overdose because they can't take it anymore.
Agree wholeheartedly!
And... the desire expressed by your friend is truly sad... no: heartbreaking!
Yeah,
I also have a friend who can't seem to shake that demon. He's much older too, but I try to be there for him, emotionally that is. I used to buy weed off of him, now I'm self sufficient in that area. It's a shame too, he's really a good soul, but he had a rough upbringing from what he's told me.
It's all so sad.
