No friends to go with and I'm stuck at home. Boring Summer is boring and hot as hell, got up to 102°F yesterday. So much for pride month. I guess I'll just make like a skunk, and stumble around my house in the cool dark.

But I can't go to pride. I don't have any friends to go with and it would just be weird and scary if I went by myself. Weird because I'd just be by myself and scary because it's the city I'd be going to by myself. And everyone I know tells me it's best to be with at least one other person when in the city.

Boring summer. I totally know what you mean. I love how at the end of every school year my friends and I all swear to hang out and kick ass over the summer but it never happens. Blarg.

Pride! People keep talking about it. If you can make it you should definitely go. I can't. I'm pretty sure they have it up in Chicago, but there's no way I could go. My mom wouldn't allow it. I've heard it's quite an experience.

As for Pride, just go. It's a load of fun even without people to go with. There's always tons of really friendly people that turn up and the people watching is amazing! lol

is both one of the Most Liked and Hated Nations, go to France and Italy you will get privilage if your a Scot, go to Canada be treated like a King, now, go to most of the Equator HATRED for no reason :S

Eh...

I hate to break it to you, but... I'd say if you go almost anywhere, no one will really care. They may ask about Scotland, haggis, Star Trek, but after a short time, they either like you or not, regardless of Scotland...

Personally, I don't get into fetishizing where my parents had sex and didn't move from, because their parents had sex there and didn't move, because my great-grandmother came to America on a boat and heard other people she knew had moved there, so she did, too. It's not a bad place, but in a world with airplanes and such, who cares? I can get back there when I need to easily. I'm just more into urban settings.

So, I think pride for that is kind of silly, so having MORE of that isn't an asset. And, being in San Francisco and NYC, one could argue I've been living in some of the places where pride actually makes sense, as opposed to, that middle that people fly over... ;-)

I mean, if you get out of that bubble, it becomes like we're proud because we live in a cold, shit, difficult place where we eat haggis on purpose and England hates us?!, and if you get far enough away, you'd wonder why no one else leaves and why you ever cared. But most people stay inside the bubble... and will encourage you to do the same, since they don't like hearing that it is a choice.

we don't leave Scotland do to climate either, for example if you live in a country that can get in to the minuses any day of the year its going to be a good move to Move anywhere outside of the Nordic Countrys and the Nordics have the exact same climate, most people do come back, it isn't the late 1800's any more Jeff, Scots don't just leave especially after Wales took over Farming and we struck Oil, Scotland is a Balanced and Supported Nation with no true reason to leave other than climate, unless your English then you have a good reason to leave.

Pride for a Nation that most people can find inhabitable, is good considering WE BEAT THE BRITISH EMPIRE ON OUR OWN you America got the French Empire to help.

and we got Equal Rights for All Races and Sexes before England and America and have never been a homophobic nation even in the Middle ages, Tradition is important in Scotland, we celebrate Scots festivals all the time, Jeff, that is Pride, oh and about to Rise up Against the Anglian Invadoeres after over a century of discrimination and going to become independent you need pride for that.

Not True

it used to be on the news alot now its rare but they have been cases of Scot's and Welshi's dying from heat in what is considered a cold country during what what is considered average heat Jeff, -30 to 12 degrees is what Scots are Adapted too

Scots get exhausted, sweat constantly, get heatstroke VERY easily, pass out alot and fill up the hospitals when its 13 Degrees, PEOPLE NEARLY DIE AT 13 DEGREE'S

January (your coldest month) typically has a mean temperature of 2℃ (that's above freezing!).

Where I live, the mean temperature for the entire winter is typically -12℃! (meaning that only rarely does the temperature ever rise above freezing January/February!)

btw... Last winter, however, was the warmest on record! An anomaly... or climate change? Dunno...

i say climate change, the summer week was hot an there is less snow on the mount's

January isn't actually as cold as november is, november is much colder, it started snowing (as in HEAVY Snow, BLIZZARD Snow) 2 years back in november i think it was about 12ft every 2 days, if we didn't keep removing it.

Well...

I never realize what journals they are actually on, since I navigate in through a comment control panel, so when I show up, I only see the comment I'm planning to reply to, hehe.

Usually there's no way to know a conversation is going to go on and on until it's too late, though. Would be a good feature, if you could go back, click a button, and it became Tycoon's journal, with a link back to the original post where it started...
