Oasis was one of the original co-sponsors of Day of Silence, but I always found it a bit odd. "You know the people you don't want to hear from? Well... what if they stay quiet all day? What will you think then?"

Never really understood what it was supposed to accomplish. I don't mean to be a cynical bitch, but how does remaining silent for a day support tolerance and fight bullying? I would rather use the voice I have rather than stay quiet.
My grades would drop and everybody would hate me if I don't say anything all day. It would be incredibly rude if someone asked me something and I ignored them.
I participate usually, but mostly cause it's fun and I like a good challenge.
Not, I guess, cause I think it'll actually do something...
I usually think about bullying and shit, like honestly, of course douchebags be douchebags, I'll try to stop bullying when I see it and not do it myself, but in all honesty, most people in high school are fucking douchebags, and you just have to deal with it...

Come now, Jeff
You know the cliches, sometimes silence can speak louder than words...

Well...
It is more ironic to an older generation, since our slogan, from the ACT-UP days was "Silence = Death." So, hard to rectify the two.

Sounds inconvenient.

I would always want to participate,
however,
1. I always forget,
2. and I tend to be quiet anyway,
3. I'm not in high school anymore so D.O.S. loses meaning.
You're not oblivious...
...and definitely, not out of the loop!
Didn't you mention that you're one of the major supporters of your school's GSA?
Aren't you so thankful that you no longer have to endure that long bus ride? I know I am!
