So I took my meds yesterday and I feel better and my headache when away! And those weird thoughts too. I went running and did exercise with my friend. My ass and legs are so sore. We also talked and had lots of fun. We were saying that we should buy a mini van and paint it different colors. Mostly pyschadelic. Is that how it's spelled? Also in english we're doing creative writing so that we don't use common verbs and contractions and others. Wasn't easy but not impossible either. Today has been a good day. Better than yesterday.
So since I'm technically catholic but not really a catholic I might go to see the crucifiction of christ or whatever it's called. I might go to church to. I would like to go so I could learn because I like learning new things everyday and it seems interesting. Religion is actually very interesting to me because I see how others think spiritually and I like to be diverse. However, I don't affiliate myself with any religions.
Later on I have to do three extra credit assignments on the great gatsby, for whom the bell tolls and midnight in paris. I wish I wasn't so boring.
Comments
I love learning about religions and philosophies.
I guess mine is sort of a form of solipsism, but more extreme.
How
how the hell do you get more extreme than solipsism?
I believe
that absolutely nothing exists. Not even my own mind.
So...
How do you think, if your mind does mind doesn't exist? Eh?
You can't deny that you think, can you?
Thoughts are illusions.
-
But
How can you have an illusion without anything to perceive it?
Perception is an illusion.
Everything is.
Define 'illusion,' please.
I'd define it as something which is perceived but does not really exist. Illusion cannot exist without perception.
Hey.... If nothing exists and everything is an illusion, does illusion itself exist? Answer me that!
Illusion is neither matter nor energy.
It doesn't count as existence.
So...
It's only matter and energy that don't exist? Abstractions are fine? Your mind could be an abstraction, couldn't it? Thought could be an abstraction? Perception, that's an abstraction, no?
Abstractions don't technically exist.
They're just ideas.
Define 'exist,' please.
The way I see it, ideas exist. Existence isn't dependent on matter, and energy... well, energy's a little tricky, we'll have to define energy, too.
If abstractions count
then they are the only things that exist.
.
Fair enough.
...
What is solipsism?
The idea that nothing but
The idea that nothing but you exists - everything you perceive is an illusion. From the Latin solus ipse, 'only himself.' One of the more famous examples is the end of Mark Twain's The Mysterious Stranger (the only thing anyone seems to remember about that story).
Midnight in Paris...
is amazing. I love that flick.
