I have this recurring dream about a fallen angel
he holds me in my sleep.

he told me once that "heaven leaves a scar, too" and showed me the wounds on his back where wings once were.

I don't care if it's real,
I don't care what it means,
but it makes me feel safe, a little
and sleeping isn't as bad if I have those dreams.

and in those dreams I'm perfect and the way I should be
in them I have a child's body but with the proportions of a man

the dreams comfort me.
