ODYN: I now understand how people can be such whores when they are drunk. (I am obviously not speaking from experience)

DVA: Alcohol doesn't really make you more confident or courageous; it just makes you care less. If you have confidence issues, it's difficult to distinguish between these two sensations.

TRI:There are many, many things that are more important that being yourself.

I really hate being drunk. This sucks; I'd always said to myself, "If I'm having this much fun sober, I'll have a blast when I'm smashed!". This is not exactly true. Usually I'm just easily confused and sleepy as fuck. But alcohol still tastes great with food, and it'll be helpful in talking to guys.

There's much to commend...

...these sentiments!

четыре: I truly hope that at least one of our more prolific and erudite Oasies takes seriously this very wise advice...

I know who you're talking about!

Chad!

You think?

Just a guess... of course!

Make it go away.

Kudos

How did you manage to get the cyrillic alphabet on your computer? Jealous.

It's not really advice, though. More like hypotheses. I don't even know if that's the proper plural form of hypothesis, but yeah. Not so much advice as things I'm learning.

If you're using a Mac...

System Preferences | Personal | Language & Texts

This will enable many possible foreign keyboards. In the upper title bar is a keyboard symbol which you can click and then select pop-up keyboards + other features (e.g., special math symbols).

I have English, Russian, and Arabic enabled (many others are available).

I'd suspect a similar app is associated with PCs... but am not familiar with how to enable.

On a PC (Windows Vista or 7),

go to the start menu and search "intl.cpl" and click on the result. Go to the 'Keyboards and Languages' tab and click 'Change Keyboards'. Go to 'Add' and choose whatever keyboard you want and click 'OK' on all windows. If you want to change your default keyboard, go to the 'Default Input Language' in the keyboard window and choose the keyboard you want in the drop-down menu. You can change keyboards in the language bar at the bottom right of the screen.

yeah i hate it when my family gets drunk and I'm the only one sober, having to practically drag my mother home, I hate how she becomes so careless like you said. I myself have never been drunk yet, i have tried alcohol, but really i don't need it say like if you have to dance.

Just Dave's picture

Eh...

It's really crappy of them to leave you the only sober person. And It's weird how taking care of friends can be slightly amusing, but taking care of family always sucks. I guess it's a responsibility thing.

I'm LITERALLY afraid to

I'm LITERALLY afraid to drink because I'm on meds. I keep thinking all the time if I drink alcohol, I'll end up in the ER getting my stomach pumped out for SIX hours! Not exactly a pleasant thought. I might sip something like champagne during New Year's or a wedding but half a glass and not really finish it or to see how something tastes.

Poor is the man
Whose pleasures depend
On the permission of another
Love me, that's right, love me
I wanna be your baby
Wanting, needing, waiting
For you to justify my love
Hoping, praying
For you to justify my love
I'm open and ready

Yeah,

Alcohol and medication definitely shouldn't be mixed unless you talk to your doctor.

Also, don't expect alcohol to taste good the first few times you have it. Most of the things people do to drinks are meant to make them taste less like alcohol.

Hmmm....

Agreed with TRI particularly - how pleasant to see that sentiment expressed, as it tends to be a very unpopular one.

About artists... I'm not so sure. I fail to see how two and a half decades' worth of dryer lint stacked in bales and displayed in a museum is either art or cool. This exists.
