I'm not sure who would be worse if elected president, Michele Bachmann, or Rick Perry.
I mean, Michele Bachmann I think has some actual intelligence and experience, but she blows it by pandering to a base of imbeciles, because despite her years of economic and taxing experience, she continues to preposterously maintain that S&P lowered our credit rating because we raised the debt ceiling.
If she doesn't know that's idiotic, with her experience, I don't know what to do, I'm desperately hoping she just knows that she has a base of ignorant fuckwads.
Rick Perry, however, has no discernable intelligence. His fucking public prayer rally to stop the drought in Texas? Kill me now.
I don't mind religion that much, I really don't even care that we have "In God we Trust" and shit on our money. I really don't, that doesn't affect me.
But I'm afraid that what he's doing will amount to having a state-sponsered religion, which scares me, as it could cause large amounts of xenophobia to those not in it. (AKA Muslims)
Now, both candidates are the usual gun-totin', gay bashing, pro-life, you know, the usual suspects.
What do you want? They're Republicans.
My dad said Michele Bachmann would be better, as while she's at least an imbecile, at least she's malleable, and smarter and more reasonable people will be able to nudge her to the right decision.
Rick Perry is I imagine much more stubborn...
I don't know, I really hope it doesn't even come down to it, and that the much more reasonable Mitt Romney will win the nomination, and Obama the election.
But, before, I hadn't believed that Michele Bachmann could win diddly shit, but she won that damn straw poll.
That doesn't mean anything, but godamn, that she can win anything, even if she was giving out free blowjobs or something, makes me lose that much more respect for humanity.
And I've heard things about Rick Perry not lookin too shabby either, which is worrying as hell.
Now, Mitt Romney is much more reasonable, I mean, still an asshole, he's a damn Republican, that's what they all are, but more reasonable.
He supports all the things I do, albeit much more watered down, he wants not gay marriage, but certain benefits and domestic partnerships as well as laws to prevent discrimination against LGBT in the workplace.
I think that's about as good as you're gonna get from a Republican...
He also wants to prevent discrimination against Muslims. Very cool.
And he also doesn't want abortion, except in cases of rape and incest...
Not so cool.
He does have some drawbacks, though, one of them being that he doesn't like drugs, not even medical marijuana.
He wants abstinence education, which is annoying but not terrible.
He wants non-denominental prayer in schools, which is theoretically not discriminating against anyone, except, oh wait, Agnostics and Atheists...
But no one cares about those dicks, right?
He likes Don't Ask, Don't Tell. Ew.
And probabaly worst of all, he's very hard on pornography, calling it "obscenity".
I'm sorry, Mr. Romney, but that "obscenity" you refer to, happens to be fucking hot.
Now, before I would have thought he's the obvious candidate, but I dunno...
If THAT guy is too liberal for the average Republican, Gawd.
My brother once said that people complain a lot about the media being left-leaning, and that's probably true, because if you're smart enough to go to journalism school and become educated and level-headed, you're not likely a person that carefully thinks through issues and then comes out with an angry, biased, conservative view.
The WHAP teacher had this little placard on her desk which I fell in love with, mostly because a teacher had this at a school where kids very well might be tea partiers, but it said "Tea Party? That's an awfully odd name to give to the 'mob of racists and homophobes'"
Very nice. If what my brother says about her is true though, I'm not yet convinced into whole-heartedly innocently loving her...
Just a side note, I never realized how nice it is in the morning to wake up to music, like the soothing tones of "One", (courtesy of my brother's iPod and iHome) rather than a beeping sound from my phone...
Makes getting up actually a whole lot easier...
Well well, since this is my first night in months that I actually have school both before and after, I still have homework to do that might take an hour or more, and I haven't started yet, which is a problem, so I really need to get on that.
G'night, Oasies! <3

Give your WHAP teacher a little rope...
Such a prominently-placed placard had to take real guts!

Do you realize how unusual it is for a teen (some other Oasis members excluded --- :)) to be as up-to-date as you on national affairs?
Personally... at this juncture, I think Bachmann's candidacy would be a true gift to all clear-thinkers! She's a genuine loony (albeit with a functioning - but hijacked - brain)...

Interesting "take" on pornography. I am genuinely "shocked" that you could be attracted. But, I'm still on a "learning" curve :)
What works best for you? Share?
Personally,
I rather just have Obama again but there's strong opposition against him even more now than when he was elected. I suggest you see the film The Billionaires' Tea Party, it might just surprise you.
Well...
It's hard to gauge actual support for Obama, since his opponents are so vocal. Similarly, you couldn't have had more people against George W. Bush and he was elected for a second term. I'd say re-elected, but that assumes too much, heh
