a camera and the artist.

i've been taking my huge 8 pound camera to school for the past week, and why? i was originally supposed to take the portraits of my homeroom classmates but i only have that class on tuesdays and the teacher more often than not gets off topic. then on wednesday and thursday i have my spanish class which doesn't feel like a class because it's only for 30 minutes and we just do some boring review on a recording with people speaking in different accents. some speak spanish too fast (spaniards), some speak it odd (central, south americans).

i followed this popular, internet photographer for the past year and i did it mainly to be inspired. he took self portraits and his jawline was "common", not model status. now all of a sudden, he has this chiseled jawline which i think is either photoshopped or he must've done a surgical procedure. you're either born with recessive facial features or you create them with plastic surgery. i'm complaining because it's undeniably hilarious and his photography style is too commercial and rubbish. he is no inpsiration and he takes the art away from a photo.

i may seem like a hypocrite but i'll assure you that i am not. i do believe photography is an art and you can create interesting shots with average looking people, too. i am also borderline with the use of photoshop. yes a photographer should use photoshop lightly, maybe fix the lighting, even the skin tone but not exaggerate the photo and make it look fake. there's another "photographer" who does the exact same thing! he takes so many self portraits like if he's a narcissistic king and then he cries that he's ugly and we're all beautiful. he's right, his nose is so big. his photos are exactly what you shouldn't do if you plan on being a photographer.

i'm becoming annoyed with my close friends because i don't really see them in school as much as i'd like. we don't have the same classes and they hangout together without even asking me. i'm surprised at this because it's the four of us that hangout together, we never leave one behind. today they decided to go eat out and did not ask if i'd like to go. i'm not going to tell them so it doesn't seem like i miss them.

i've heard that DADT has been repealed and to be frank i was never bothered by it. well it bothered me that it made gay people look different than straight people. i hate it most when people claim that gay people want "special" rights, it just makes them sound so stupid. we don't want "special" rights, we want equal rights as in get married throughout the whole country. i don't know much about the rights issue but i did hear about certain laws in certain states criminalizing sodomy. who cares what two consenting adults do behind closed doors?

for english class we are talking about guns and the second amendment. i hate over-complicating things. for speech class we are debating pat robertson and his alzheimer's and divorce statement.
