Dilbert just gave me a concept I've never thought of before that's very simple.
Simple molecules combine to make powerful molecules, simple cells combine to make powerful life forms, simple electronics combine to make powerful computers. Logically, all things are created by a combination of simpler, less capable components. Therefore, a supreme being must be our future, not our orgin.
That is literally verbatim from a Dilbert comic, and it makes sense, when I think about it.
I is done now.
Night night!

theo nly issues with that...
s cells and moleccules arnt self concious, while people are. tho we may create a civilization with god like powers due to technology(creating life and starrs and whatnot)
"A loving man and woman in a committed relationship can marry. Dogs, no matter what their relationship, are not allowed to marry. How should society treat gays and lesbians in committed relationships? As dogs or as humans?"
I don't understand...

You didn't know this...
...before Dilbert? :(
All that exists in this (or, presumably, any other universe) is comprised of far simpler component parts. Ultimately (after repeated dissections), we are left with what are described as fundamental particles of nature (e.g., a quark) or mere energy expressed as a wave (e.g., a photon).
Typically, this concept is introduced in first courses of chemistry and biology.
Most combinations of fundamental particles or molecules prove unsuccessful and fail to replicate or survive replication in the environment of their creation (i.e., survival of the fittest).
There is no reason to believe that evolution will ultimately lead to omnipotence as an end-point for either life or an inanimate device.
Dilbert, however, is great fun!
Well
I've known for a very long time that everything in the universe is broken into far simpler parts.
But I never thought about it that way...
Like, how the big bang started, and there was just quarks floating around, as simple as can be.
And, within a second, they formed into protons, and then atoms.
And then, 300,000 years later, stars started forming.
I never understood how that makes it illogical for God to be our orgin... :P

"Illogical" is not the best expression...
..."unnecessary" would be a better fit.
Elph... have I ever told you
Elph... have I ever told you how much I adore you :D
Don't think so
But... I'd be honored to be treated just as a great-great-uncle :)
