Okay, for those of you who don't know, Senate Bill S978 is the bill prohibiting any copywritted (copywritten? O_O) material to be broadcast over the web. It was INTENDED to probably stop pirated material from being spread, like copied music albums and movies. But the way the bill is worded NOW, it prohibits ANY kind of copy(writted/written) material on the web. Unless you're like Vevo, or some stupid shit, no fanmade videos for songs, no Let's Play videos for your favorite games, and no clips from your favorite movies. That's fucking ridiculous, here, Danielle has a good way to explain it if you don't get what I'm saying. Skip to 2:09 unless you care about World of Warcraft

THAT IS SOME FUCCKKKEED UUPPPP SHIIITT. I honestly don't get how this is going to benefit anyone in the world. And Danielle has a point, it does help for publicity if we make creative videos. I was going to make a cinema bizarre music video, but WTF ever...I'm really raging about this. >.<

In other news, I actually can't wait till school to start. I'm bored with life, all I do is wake up at about 12 and get on my computer tilll lunch, eat in my room, get back on comp, get a shower, eat dinner in the living room, and get back on my laptop till about 5. >.< S'yeah. I read about this a while back...

It's just dumb. I don't understand why they're so concerned with people who use the materiel in a positive way, and not for download/sharing. In my eyes, a song played during a fan video is exposure for the band! Same with the actual video component to fan videos.

I could understand companies taking down a video if someone uploaded an entire episode, but not a video that composes of a bunch of clips and a song over top of it to the point people can't even hear what is being said in the video. That kind of thing introduces people movies/TV shows, and possibly makes people want to search out the show on TV or buy rent/but the movie. In the end it's all exposure.

This will blow, because, like you, I enjoy watching fan videos. Some of them are darn good!

The Senate has more important things to worry about than pirated music, man. It's NOT the end of the world if people play copywrited stuff. It doesn't hurt the environment, it doesn't give anyone cancer, so what's the harm in it? It's all about money these days :|
