I was looking through Wikipedia, and I found the page for Matthew Shepard. He was the guy in 1998 that was driven off and tortured and then murdered for being gay.
Now that was sad enough, of course, but for some reason this one sentence made me like legit cry:
"It was reported that Shepard was beaten so brutally that his face was completely covered in blood, except where it had been partially washed clean by his tears."
Cause it was just like, damn, he never got to actually do much, he was only 21, not yet out of college, and then it was just like boom, death in agony. It's worse because his last few moments were abject pain and terror...
And he'd already been robbed, beaten, and raped a few years before, it was just he had the fortune to survive that time.
Damn, have we really come that far in like 12 years?

well
if i remember, it was in the south. some people in the south are still very, very against it. well also people everywhere, but its heavier in the south.
"A loving man and woman in a committed relationship can marry. Dogs, no matter what their relationship, are not allowed to marry. How should society treat gays and lesbians in committed relationships? As dogs or as humans?"
It
happened in Wyoming. Which is actually more Northern, technically, but it's also still in the Midwest in the rural areas, so it's basically the same as the south, I guess.
But damn, I just can't even imagine how and why someone could do that. No matter how much I hated someone, I'd never seek them out and brutally murder them. And especially if I didn't even know them... :P
Both the guys involved got double life sentences, fresh out of college, so I'm just amazed at the shortsighted brutality they showed...

Sheeeet, man
Twas intense, I say. And that was only 80 proof, what would happen with Moonshine that's 198 or 200 proof?

Well...
80 proof is plenty. Also, I'm not sure it's all that enjoyable to just drink random alcohol. I mean, tequila shots are fine if you do the whole salt, lime, etc., thing surrounded by shirtless frat guys all doing shots. But otherwise, gotta mix that shit, get a nice margarita going. Without mixers, it's all kinda blah.

Yah
For now, I'm just experimenting, seeing what it's like :P
I'm sure there will be years for the shirtless frat guy parties.

Hmm...
I'm not sure I would measure progress by the state of random crime victims.

I know,
I was wondering, do you think that would happen today?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xt5ghXdq6Z0&safe_search=on
Sure...
Still does. Shepard got more attention since he was a boy next door looking white boy, but it's nothing rare or unique. But it's always hard to know what happened in these cases, since the media run with the gay angle, and there's rarely any proof of what went on besides the crime itself. Was it a robbery gone bad? Did they flirt with him to get him to leave with them and then attack him? No one definitely knows.
But, Lawrence King seemed to die just as horribly recently: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E.O._Green_School_shooting

Tequila IS strong :P
Jeez, you're such a badboy Chad. Do I have to bend you over my knee and spank you backwards??
-
That's redick!
Euphemism? Right?
With more than enough tequila in his gut... he just might assent :)
But then... after much frustration, he'll come to appreciate how excessive alcohol can impact performance. Not a happy boy!
Hmm...
Have you been using your Shake Weight to improve your "backwards spanking" skills?

A bit too vigorous... huh?
Frankly... for me, slow and gentle is far more efficacious :)
Er...
Probably more than I needed to know about you, Elfie. XD

Aye.
Tequila is strong. Although I prefer scotch.
And when it comes to thinking about Matt Shepard, I think I'll have another glass.
