Mother Nature is a bitch.

I'm writing this journal from a hotel twenty miles from home. There's no electricity anywhere in my town and there are fallen trees everywhere. Some people's homes were smashed by trees, and there are huge branches scattered everywhere. In the yards, in the streets. The river has flooded from all the rain and the entire riverfront is underwater--boat clubs, bars, parks. So basically a massive storm messed up my whole town, and so now I'm stuck here in this hotel with my family, waiting for electricity to come back and stuff. It could've been a lot worse for me though. I'm just glad our home is still standing, and the electricity should return by the end of this week. Some people were not so fortunate. No deaths were reported, though. So that's a relief.

I was gonna write more stuff, but I don't feel like it anymore. As if things weren't bad enough, my period just started and I'm cramping and my head hurts. And I miss home. Fuck me, right?

Bleh. Not in the best of moods, as you can see.

An update:

The power is back at my house, and we're back home. :P We've spent most of the day cleaning up the fallen branches in my yard, and replacing the food that spoiled in our fridge while the power was gone.

But yeah, I'm just glad to be back home, with electricity :)
