So, I've seen Tangled before. I LOOOOVVVEEEEDDD IT. SSSOOOO MMMUUUCCCHHH. It's such a sweet movie, kinda basic Disney layout, but ohmuhgawsh it's so breathtaking. Especially in the part where they're in the boat, and the laterns are lit and they fly up into the night sky, and then Rapunzel lights one and it starts flying. Gah, I cried there. Like, legit waterworks. Before I go into detail about WHY I'm crying, here's a synopsis. And a kindasortaspoiler, but I'll alert right before that.

So, centuries ago, this sundrop fell from the heavens, landing on a little bluff overlooking the ocean. It forms into a beautiful golden flower. But then this evil woman, who I'll refer to as Mom, finds it, and uses it's powers to make her young again, and she does this every so often, hiding it under a basket wove of leaves and such. She chants the song "Flower gleam and glow, let your power shine, make the clock reverse, give back what once was mine, what once was mine" and over course her voice is all crackly and stuff while she sings. Anyways, hundereds of years later, she's still alive, and the Queen at that time gets sick. The King sends out armies to find the fabled flower, and turns out that Mom didn't hid it too well last time, and they find it, but Mom sees them with it. the King places the flower in a dish of water, and has the Queen drink from it, and she gets all better. But then, she gives birth to a beautful blond girl (the King and Queen are brunettes), and they name her Rapunzel. One night, they lay her in bed and go to sleep, but Mom sneaks in, and tries to cut a lock of the golden hair out, but it just dies and turns an ugly brown. So she takes the baby and runs, waking up King and Queen in the process. Fast fooorrrrwwaaarrrdddd to when Rapunzel is about to turn 18. Her hair can actually like, glow and heal and make people young, which is why Mom raised her as her own kid, and keeps her around. Every year on her birthday, she sees these lights, or the lanterns, from her window in the tower. She asks Mom if they can go see the lanterns this year, and of course she says no. But then when Mom leave, this man, Flynn, sneaks up. He just stole the Crown from the Castle a while through the forest. Rapunzel sees him, and smacks him in the face with a frying pan. She's all like "You can get your crown if you take me to see the Lanterns" Well, Flynn is a fugative, so he denies the offer at first, but they end up going, and they get in a whole bunch of shenanigans, but when they finally get in the Kingdom, it's beautiful and such. Anyways, Flynn and her start to fall in love, and they take a boat out to the lake to watch the lanterns, which is so fantastic and breathtaking. It's so beautiful. She even lights one, which is why I cried, because she doesn't know that she's really lighting one because of her. that it's in memory of her. SSPPPOOOIIILLLEERRR ALLLLEEERRRRTTTT.
Mom tricks Flynn into taking the crown, but then he gets caught and is sentenced to execution. Mom then takes Rapunzel back to the tower, claiming that it must mean that Flynn never loved her. She lays in her bedroom, daydreaming about everything, when she sees this symbol of the kingdom, a beautiful golden star, all around her room. Then she flashes back to when she's a baby, seeing it all around the castle, and then seeing her parents, King and Queen. She confronts Mom about it, and...well...wait. But somehow, with the aid of people they met on their journey, Flynn breaks out of prison and gets to Rapunzel, who is tied up. Mom then proceeds to stab Flynn in the back (literally), and he crumples on the floor dying. Rapunzel says that she'll stay with Mom if she can heal Flynn. She goes to him, and he's like "No no no...you must be free!" And she's like "No no no...you must live!" So she gets ready to heal him, with her superlonghair, but then Flynn cuts it off. She looks at him like "WHAT DID YOU DO?" and now her hair is a short cut, brown looking. But then Mom like, begins getting uber old, and falls out of the window and dies before she hits the ground. Go figure. Anyways, Flynn dies. Like, legitimately. But then Rapunzel's tears bring him back to life, and they head to the Castle, and her parents recognize her right away, and accept her. They live happily ever after.

ITS SUCH A BEAUTIFUL MOVIE. And the mom is all like "MOM KNOWS BEST, DON'T LEAVE ME YOU'LL ONLY GET HURT, MWAHAHA" And my sister and I just keep on pointing to MY mom the whole time because that is EXACTLY HOW SHE IS LIKE. The Mom in the movie even sings a song called "Mother Knows Best." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBGZrm3dcf0 I can't Embed it, it says it's disabled. OH EM GEE Here's the lyrics if you just don't want to click it.

Mother Gothel : You want to go outside? Why, Rapunzel...
♪ Look at you, as fragile as a flower
Still a little sapling, just a sprout
You know why we stay up in this tower

Rapunzel : I know but...

Mother Gothel :
That's right, to keep you safe and sound, dear
Guess I always knew this day was coming
Knew that soon you'd want to leave the nest
Soon, but not yet

Rapunzel : But...

Mother Gothel :
Shh!
Trust me, pet
Mother knows best
Mother knows best
Listen to your mother
It's a scary world out there
Mother knows best
One way or another
Something will go wrong, I swear
Ruffians, thugs
Poison ivy, quicksand
Cannibals and snakes
The plague

Rapunzel : No!

Mother Gothel : Yes!

Rapunzel : But...

Mother Gothel :
Also large bugs
Men with pointy teeth, and
Stop, no more, you'll just upset me
Mother's right here
Mother will protect you
Darling, here's what I suggest
Skip the drama
Stay with mama
Mother knows best
Mother knows best
Take it from your mumsy
On your own, you won't survive
Sloppy, underdressed
Immature, clumsy
Please, they'll eat you up alive
Gullible, naïve
Positively grubby
Ditzy and a bit, well, hmm vague
Plus, I believe
Gettin' kinda chubby
I'm just saying 'cause I wuv you
Mother understands
Mother's here to help you
All I have is one request
Rapunzel?

Rapunzel : Yes?

Mother Gothel : Don't ever ask to leave this tower again.

Rapunzel : Yes, Mother.

Mother Gothel : I love you very much, dear.

Rapunzel : I love you more.

Mother Gothel :
I love you most.
Don't forget it
You'll regret it

Chris, you need to STOP BEING SO FUCKING AWESOME.

It's not fair. It's really... not.

I have this movie on my iPod, along with the entire soundtrack... and I've watched it around six times beginning to end, plus all the little bits I watch repeatedly. And I occasionally walk around brandishing frying pans at people.

Wow.woW

You. You need to stop

You. You need to stop spewing your awesomeness at everyone. nobody likes a show off. xD
But yeah, I'm in the process of getting the soundtrack. Next time I get an iTunes card, you bet it's going on there.
