I think that having an age to be an "Adult" is quite silly. Not just for myself. But it's funny, one day you're a kid and POOF, overnight you become an adult who can do almost anything...
except drink? So as an adult, I still can't decide for myself if I want to get drunk?
I mean, so many laws are fucked up that it's hilarious.
At any age, you can buy condoms and lube- but no sex? I can get birth control at my age and still not have sex. Because I have to be a certain age for my judgement of whether I want a penis in my vagina to be true?
I mean, I could be wrong, but I think I know the difference between being raped or not. My body told me about four years ago that I was ready to have children. My body told me three years ago that I was sexually active.
So the laws say that my body is lying to me?
I really hate people that try to tell people what to do with their own bodies- The right to your body is something nobody should take away.
Rape, murder, forced births (illegalizing abortion), illegal prostitution... It's all wrong.
I mean, I'm not saying I want to be a prostitute. But if you have sex for money, and sell it, it's magically "pornography"! What.
I mean, sexual needs are drives just like hunger. I think it's actually on Maslow's hierarchy of needs, if I'm not mistaken.
I mean, I'm not a whore- I'm not saying everyone is ready for sex at fifteen. I'm not even still COMPLETELY ready. I wouldn't do it with everyone.
but I know how to say yes, and how to say no. That is something that I think everyone knows how to say at fifteen, or fourteen, even twelve. I know what I'm getting into. I think it's funny, that people who write these laws are old people who don't even remember being a teenager.
I mean, I do believe most kids my age AREN'T ready. But we all aren't like that. Some of us are different and responsible. I'm not being used, I'm not using anyone, I'm not harming anybody. So why is it illegal?

Sorry, this is a weird journal. But I think alot of our laws are written because people are scared of sex and nudeness. It isn't something to be afraid of....

The law is all about order and keeping the peace with a hint of morals. After all without laws the world would probably be more of a hell hole than it already is. Bottom line is if you don't mess with the law, they don't mess with you.
Laws need to exist. I know I'll get panned for this, but it's true. Every society had laws this is no different.

Laws are a good thing.
Although they seem weird at times, laws are good. They protect many of those who are not ready to have sexual relations, and that's a good thing. And anyways, there has to be some age point. Yes there is always the debate "hey so I can't do whatever today I can tomorrow On my birthday" but there has to be a line drawn somewhere. Anyways, that is my opinion.

I don't think there should be age laws. It doesn't mean a damn thing... I think instead there should be a test of some sort you have to take in order to gain certain privileges. You have to have a license to drive, why not a license to be considered an adult?
I mean, I know laws are there to protect, but some are stupid. Why can you go fight in war at 18 but not buy beer? The age to have sex here is 16, but you can't buy porn until you're 18!? No sense.

Yeah. I mean, I'm 15, and sometimes, when I look at 12 year olds, I'm like "they don't know what they're doing", but then I remember back just 3 odd years ago, and I remember, "hey, I knew what was going on back then, right?".
And I'm 15, imagine how it is for some 70 year old white-haired politician. They way I think most of the time, and I think they do too, is I'm thinking, right now is the new, improved me, back then I had no clue what I was doing.
But when I remember back, I realize I kinda did. As I do now. Yet I still can't have sex.
So yeah, it'd do them some good to try to remember back what it's like to be a teenager once in a while.
Yeah, they make the ages because they're stupid. But if they're going to have a cut off point, they have to enforce it. I couldn't get my drivers license on March 24 next year, even though I could get it the next day. They couldn't just sayd "oh, close enough", I'm still the exact same person I'll be the next day, but if they have an age for it, that age needs to be enforced.
But yes, I am a big fan of the maturity test idea. Go get elected!
