I feel great tonight. I feel anew almost since I started following Islam. I don't mean to come off as being too religious but I just thought an honest journal was nice. Life is so great and I thank Allah (God) every morning and every night, aside from the daily prayer. Oh how great this new area of life is, how I wish to go on Hajj to Makkah (Mecca).
I can only imagine how I would somehow find a way to complain but I would soon disregard the selfish complaints and move on with the other pilgrims. Hajj is definately an experience and a great way to meet people from other nations. And also to almost replicate the pilgrimage Muhammad (peace be upon him) made.
I so need to get a prayer mat, so many things to do, but I have the time. Everything is worth it.

hmmmm
theres like seven calls to prayer right? do any of these occur during school hours? and if so, how do you cope with such a thing?
"A loving man and woman in a committed relationship can marry. Dogs, no matter what their relationship, are not allowed to marry. How should society treat gays and lesbians in committed relationships? As dogs or as humans?"
Schools in Islamic nations...
...excuse students for prayer at the proper time.
Since the specified times are determined by the position of the sun... the channel keeps shifting by a few minutes from day to day! This can be quite disruptive to classes... but observance (often mandatory) does enhance one's assurance of entry into Paradise.
Or, at least, this is what is believed.
Yes,
Elph this is exactly what is believed. If I didn't I'd face eternal damnation. Once again I love sarcasm! if you ever wondered why we pray at specific times it's so that everyone following the certain timetable can pray facing the Ka'ba as one.
Actually,
there are six times (my Madhab is Hanafi [in Sunni]).
the times are as follows:
Fajr: 5:37 AM (yes I get up for this one)
Sunrise: 7:00 AM
Zuhr: 1:33 PM
Asr: 6:12 PM
Maghrib: 8:05 PM
Isha: 9:23 PM
The Zuhr prayer is the only one that occurs during school where I live. And I told my teacher it's my religious requirement. The teacher was understanding and let me do what needed to be done, usually I go outside for the prayer. Sure people will look, but I don't mind it. :-)
