I haven't recorded anything in a year already. The only reason keeping me from doing that is because I'm just too lazy and then I get busy. Plus my microphones are broken. I remember when I used to be an active musician, oh those truly were "the days". I remember the impromptu concerts in the park and in the city.
Just my guitar and harmonica, my voice as well. I was a modern day troubadour and I could actually live off my earnings. Then one day I became side tracked. I found a new passion other than Folk Music. I found Classical Guitar. Then I found early music, the biggest influence on me since Folk Music is now Baroque.
Although I haven't forgotten how to play my old songs, some recorded, I still don't play them as often as I used to. But then again I suppose this is just moving on. Even though I still really have a place for the music and my Folk Guitar, I suppose we all move on to bigger and or better things. I think what I miss the most is the creativity.
I would always do a song, then make some random-ass mix as a bonus track or just for noise. Usually to make a random mix I would just mix down tapes and recordings to a master on my four-track. Oh man, I remember this one where I had shitty techno music and ice cream truck music with an introduction to quit smoking (LOL).
So put all together it sounded like some weird hipster-stop-smoking-program. Yeah now that I remember it was the creativity, and not having to conform to guidelines. But this is not to say I hate the guidelines or conformity required for say, Classical Guitar. Only that I need a break from being proper and disciplined.
I've changed in many ways since I joined here (a year two months from now), I look back and think "Man, I was way cool". Of course that part of my life is over and I lived it well. I wouldn't change a thing, I'm happy with who I am.

this sounds like shit people do in my digital media class
Lol!
I remember my multimedia and animation class. So many pointless projects people would do in their spare time.
