I know I'm gonna sound stupid by asking this, but what exactly is dysphoria? I've understood it to be a form of depression, but I could be wrong.

i'm not clear on the linguistic details, but in the genderqueer/trans community, it's the difference between your body and how it's supposed to be- like, if I'm feeling dysphoric about my chest, I'm feeling crappy because it's feminine where I want it to be masculine.

Ooooohhh. Well, I looked it up online for whatever reason, and it never mentioned anything about what you just said. The magical Google machine told me that it was basically anger issues, mood swings, and all the symptoms of bipolar disorder, only given a different name. Google was wrong, it was horribly wrong.
When addressing gender issues...
the term would typically be modified by prefixing the adjective gender, i.e., "gender dysphoria."
