i'm not clear on the linguistic details, but in the genderqueer/trans community, it's the difference between your body and how it's supposed to be- like, if I'm feeling dysphoric about my chest, I'm feeling crappy because it's feminine where I want it to be masculine.

The magical Google machine told me that it was basically anger issues, mood swings, and all the symptoms of bipolar disorder, only given a different name. Google was wrong, it was horribly wrong.

the term would typically be modified by prefixing the adjective gender, i.e., "gender dysphoria."
