Say you have a few friends whose company you do not enjoy. Say that these friends really seem to enjoy your company. Say that these friends literally want to spend entire days with you. How the hell do you get away from them without being a dick?
Just be a dick. I currently find myself not knowing whether I am that kind of friend, the one who wants to spend too much time with somebody who no longer wants to be with me. I wish my friend would either spend the time with me - it's really not all that much - or just have a big scene of being-a-dick if he doesn't want to see me anymore. I hate not knowing. I hate the excuses he makes - sure, it's probably true that he has too much else going on, but that's never stopped him before. Excuses can only really last so long, so if you want it to be over, just end it, I say.
@centerfielder: I'm going to college out of state, or else I would. It's good advice though; It pretty much got me through high school.
@MacAvity: I don't hate them, and I don't want them to hate me. I just don't want to spend that much time with them. Although, I think you are ultimately right; I just have to explain that to them without sounding like the bastard I am.
@Magic Fantastic: I feel like this advice could be effectively applied to most situations.
@ferrets: It's nice to know I'm not the only one who does this, although I'm not sure if I'm as caring as you are.

More people have been slaughtered in the name of religion than for any other single reason. That, my friends, that is true perversion.

OHMAN. I wish I knew the answer to that.
Usually, I just exaggerate my neurosis. If people think I'm going to have a panic attack they'll leave me alone... :P
...I'm secretly a lot more stable, but a lot less nice than most of my friends think I am. >_>
