Hi! I'm sort of new to this thing. And kinda have no clue what to do. Nor do I know anyone on here. So yeah... This is my first journal. Should anyone see this, well then, hi how are ya? Howdy :D
In your profile, you mention liking musicals. Have you seen (or intend to see) Billy Elliot, the Musical?
I have actually! But the last thing I actually saw was chicago. I don't get to see musicals as much as I'd like so I just youtube em instead, but I have actually!
We are not what you think we are! We are golden! We are golden!
How are you?
I'm doing pretty good and you?
Welcome to Oasis :)
Thanks! That's sweet of you!
I'm still pretty lost on how this works but ya know I'm havin fun on this!
You'll get the hang of it quickly, I'm sure. It's a pretty clear set up.
And yeah! It can be a lot of fun, and you can meet some pretty amazing people. Overall, it's a really wonderful place. Yep :D
I hope I do! Theres a bunch of people on this.
So do you just meet people by answering their posts?
Basically... by replying to posts or people replying to your posts or you can click on their username to go to their profile. There you can write them private messages.
Hey there! I'm not on here as much as I used to be, but you can ask jeff I am one of the old ppl on here(in terms of how long I have been on this site) and I can give some pretty good advice. well see ya around!
"My ear should catch your voice; my eye, your eye, My tongue should catch your tongue, sweet melody, My tongue your tongue were the world mine, And I will sing that they shall hear: That I am not, I am not afraid, I am not afraid!" -- Were The World
It's all relative. but you can just click any user name on here, and at the bottom of their profile, it says how long they've been on here.
"Wanting to be someone else is a waste of the person you are." - Kurt Cobain
Jeff you know how many of these profiles I have made. Azrael, Prergrine, fire, and this one. Azrael lasted about a year four years ago, peregrine was about 2 years and 7 name changes, fire was about 6 months, and then there is this one.
Yeah, I do this crazy thing where I don't change my account name? So much easier. ;-)
I've often wondered what the impetus might be for changing one's nick. It would seem that whatever the logic may be, it would be made invalid by advertising its history...
Just curious; not critical!
2 times I changed because I forgot the password. the others were all vor varried reasons. Now I am 18 I kinda don't care anymore.
Welcome to Oasis! Nice to meet you. :)
Nice to meet you to :D
Everyone on here is soo nice!
Always nice to see another new face! :)
"Why is it that as a society, we are more comfortable seeing two men holding guns than holding hands?"
Ahaha thank you so much.
Doesn't seem like theres to many people on here!
But thank you still
...your observation is quite depressingly accurate!
The number of regular participants on Oasis right now is unusually low... Vacations and summer camps (for denizens of the northern hemisphere) are the primary culprits.
And then, a few of our cherished members are temporarily absent for less happy reasons. But time is a great healer, and I'm quite confident that activity will become more frenetic once schools resume in a few weeks...
Wait out the doldrums... You may have noticed that you've been instrumental in stimulating some of the slackers :)
There is also a changeover at school times, so some of the active posters now will go dormant, and some people we haven't been hearing from will return.
My take is that Oasis always has the right number of people on it at any given time. Otherwise, it sounds like we're somehow denigrating the people who are here writing, sharing, helping, and supporting by thinking instead of those who are not.
And there are ALWAYS people who get banned by parents from visiting, etc., so that is also part of the lifecycle here. I'm just happy when I don't get angry parent e-mails at the same time, which does happen.
If you are not getting confirmation e-mails from Oasis to complete your membership, don't hesitate to e-mail jeff at oasismag dot com. Be sure to include your username.
