I don't respect your decision.
Something has been bugging me since I first came out. I once told a relative of mine that I was gay. It was hard enough for me to tell them and then they go and say "I don't respect your decision." I wondered why. They said that they didn't respect it because I've never dated or had any relationship with a girl before.
How would I know for sure? I mean, do you have to go out with a girl or a guy to know if you're gay or do you just know? It's funny though how she said that to me and yet she doesn't say "I don't respect your decision." to our straight relatives.
I just wonder if anyone else has ever faced this predicament before.

I had a few of the same responses when i first came out to a few of my friends. It's either "No way,you can't be gay!" or " Are you sure? you've never even been with a girl before",or "No kidding".... And when i get serious,they get either all nervous,or try to make sure if i really am gay,you know,like they want to change my mind or brush it off as going through a phase...
Well,I don't know what to do. But a little drama doesn't bother me. So i'll back down and let them assume whatever they like

are stupid. just because youve never dated a girl dosnt mean you are just going through a stage. it would be completly unfair to date a girl if you didnt like her. to you and her. do they not see how jerky it would be to date a girl when you know you like boys?

sometimes people are lik that.. i mean where i am from, family is everything, and wen some1 from the family says something lik that i know how much it could hurt.. i hope the best for u... and remember YOUR NOT ALONE.. if anything u always have the Oasis to turn to...
