Back to Auckland

I'm back from the debating tournament! It was a fun and fulfilling experience. My best friend from from Wellington received best speaker. He smokes now, interestingly because he used to disapprove of me doing so. My team only lost one debate, and it was to the third ranked team with a split judging panel. I learned so much and met so many people.

We all lived in hostels, and it was more a social experience. Town wasn't so great, maybe because I live in the biggest city of Auckland and Hamilton is only a fifth the size of it. Hamilton also happened to be our country's capital of diseases... so no one dared getting with anyone anyway lol.

Oh, and I came out to our university's debating society. First it was to one of the executives (she's so hot), then it was sort of just casually to friends and randoms. People either respected it or didn't care. That's what I expected from filthy liberal debaters at university. Excellent.

In fact, I was talking to V on the first night. She was saying how our debating society seems to have a lot of highly likely gay people. I laughed, because she suspected at least five people, all of whom I knew were most likely straight (many I knew quite well and had/have girlfriends). I asked what she thought of me and she was like "no way, you're just metro". Well, she didn't believe me when I told her. Neither did everyone when they first heard lol!

To be honest there definitely are other more likely suspects than me... but for some reason everyone always denies the fact I'm gay when they hear it for the first time from someone (from me or a reliable source). I'm not the manliest guy, I'm tall, skinny, care too much about my hair, wear makeup... but people still deny it and suspect other people LOL. In fact, different people thought I was going out with three different girls during the tournament... maybe they just think I'm a flirt. Maybe I am.

Oh, and I was going to go to the local gay bar (some 'straight' guy found out for me). Another guy, Z, heard me and was interested as well. But instead I went back to the hostel to drink. Z added me on facebook tonight and I found out he's gay. I knew my gaydar was right the whole time. I think he's cute. My friend doesn't. I think that kind of puts me off. What friends think is very important.

Both Tristran and D texted me over the weekend asking whether I was going to (Auckland) town. Naturally I couldn't because I was in Hamilton. I'm a little confused as to whether D likes me. Tristan is a bit obvious but D is sort of new... sometimes he sounds a bit too 'friendly'.

We sang musicals in the car on the way back.
