My swim coach, Patty, cares a lot about what us swimmers do.
She doesn't MAKE us do stuff at home, I guess, but she wants us to.
She wants us to eat right, and do dryland.
For example, we were at a a three day swim meet, and it was after the day's events, so we had retired to the hotel. Most of the swim team, including me, decided to go to Safeway.
I bought a HUGE carton of goldfish crackers.
Then, we went back to one of the coaches rooms, named Lee. We played cards, and then we decided to use my goldfish crackers as betting chips.
The next day, at breakfast, Patty, Head Coach, chewed out Lee and the parents in that room, because she thought that our betting with goldfish crackers would lead to gambling.
Ok...
Well, she wanted us to do dryland at night. Ok. Sounds good.
She told us what we should be eating. That's fine.
She told us we shouldn't drink coffee. Ok.
Then she told us to avoid caffeine altogether. No.
I don't drink coffee, except once in a great while. It is good though.
But, in the mornings, just to take the edge off, I drink a little tea. With caffeine in it.
She told me I couldn't drink caffeinated tea. NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
If I don't get my morning coffee, then I'm too tired, and I get major headaches over the course of the day.
Maybe I could get more sleep... But I'm too lazy for that.
Next thing you know she'll say I can't listen to Lady Gaga or sleep with my baby blanket anymore...
Jeez. I'm just so tired all the time. I get headaches all the time, and so it's like "hmmmmmm, sleep deprivation, dehydration, or just plain stress?"
I need Spring Break...
Wait. Actually, during Spring Break I go to the East Coast. No swimming. I don't need that.
I need Summer. During Summer, I sleep in till 8:30, then get a nice bowl of cereal, and mosey on down to swimming at 9:30. Then I relax the rest of the day. No headaches in there.

Adolescents & Coffee
I'm guessing that you have been accustomed to having a cup or two of coffee with breakfast (never skip breakfast!)... If you suddenly stop, headaches for a few days are quite normal (caffeine deprivation).
The thinking on the advisability of adolescents consuming coffee (even in moderation) is being intensively discussed by professionals at this time. Reading between the lines, however, it seems to be evolving that coffee can actually be beneficial --- not harmful, as has been thought for ages!
The important matter is that it should be treated with respect: My own advice would be to avoid all soft drinks (many empty calories and lots of caffeine), and cease any coffee intake after late afternoon (or at least 4 hours before normal bedtime).
Search the various online science journals... there are many recent articles on coffee and caffeine. It does not appear to be the devil's drink as has been portrayed for years!
As a starter, take a look at this recent article:
