Life is amazing, in case you haven't noticed.

Most people have about 100 trillion cells in their bodies. That's a lot of cells. 100,000,000,000. Big number.

And, most cells perform thousands, if not millions of chemical reactions every second. I shall assume about 100 thousand. 100,000. Another big number.

If you multiply the number of cells times the number of chemical reactions in every one, you get 10 quintillion, or 10,000,000,000,000,000. That is the number of chemical reactions that go on every second to sustain your body.

If you think about all the things your body does simultaneously, it's enough to make you blow a fuse.
For our muscles to contract, we need a nerve signal, that releases a surge of calcium ions in a muscle cell to cause fibers of different proteins to slide past each other. All that happens in a few thousandths of a second.

Our brains. I would have said they weren't possible, if they weren't already so obviously possible.
They are nerve cells that send electrical signals every second, billions and billions of them. And they can create conscious thought.
Thought is amazing.

This is why I have never been a person to cut, or anything like that.
If I harm my body, it is like harming the most amazing work of art anyone can imagine.
I like to swim, and make my body as strong as I can. Eat the right foods. That's a lot of chemical reactions I have to sustain. If I cut, thousands and thousands of red blood cells leave. And die. That's a lot of death.
Life is too amazing to just waste.
I will get mad if someone steps on an anthill.
I put great value in life, something so delicate and yet resistant at the same time. It is just flabbergasting.
