This reminds me of kids who are always waiting for adulthood...
Life might not be that good, but there are always good parts to it. Enjoy what you can, and weather what you can't. What if you die and figure out death is worse than living? You've just thrown away the rest of your life, and you'll never get it back.
Death is forever, life is temporary. Stay with the temporary as long as you can until you get to the permanent, I say.
