I am planning a Transgender Day of Remembrance Movie Night for my GLBT group of my University. I was hoping that I could get some suggestions for Transgender Documentaries or Movies that would be good to show.
If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate them.
Especially if anyone knows of any that are about both F to M and M to F
The ones I am thinking about so far are:
Southern Comfort
Gender Rebels
‹ My Gay Week

Boys Don't Cry!
Thank goodness for wikipedia. I never would have remembered that one on my own. Oh, and also
The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert
Wikipedia helped me remeber that one too. :D
I am so clever that sometimes I don't understand a single word of what I am saying.

Trans movies
Of course Boys Don't cry! And Better Than Chocolate is mostly a lesbian movie but one of the supporting characters is a trans woman named Judy who is, I think, a really good trans character. One of the best I've ever seen portrayed in a movie. Really sympathetic and likable. Also the whole movie deals with fear of coming out and hate and acceptance. It's not the best movie ever but it is a good little Canadian LGBT film. You should give it a shot!
I've also heard that Transamerica is good, but I haven't watched it myself.
Good luck with the movie night :)
