If you liked South Of Nowhere + Spashley you would probably like this show called Skins, like I did. They had a really nice and quite sweet love story develop between two of the girls this season. If you're looking for a sweet gay love storyline I think you should give this show a shot...
Much better to watch this show than waiting for them to actually just let Silver be her true (lesbian) self on 90210...hehehehe. But seriously I enjoyed this show SO much. It's my first time watching it and it was pretty great this season. Watching the relationship develop between Naomi and Emily develop was so great and sweet and funny. Needless to say I now have a crush on Naomi ;)

I watched all of them a couple months ago without a problem but right now when I went to find them for you it seems that they have put restrictions on some of the videos and they won't let me watch some of them because I'm in Canada! That's just plain stupid. But anyways hopefully you wont have that problem since you don't live in Canada. Hopefully. Also I've heard that they are going to air them on BBC America if you've got that TV channel. Hope that helps :)

I know isn't it great? I love it and I didn't even think I would like it as much as I did. Especially in the first episode it was a bit over the top for me but then it got better and better with pretty much every episode. I think the actors are fantastic too. Naomi and Emily are my favourites. And I like Cook too he's such a disaster. lol. It's funny. You have to let me know how you like the rest of the season :)

It was a great show, I just finished the season. Hhaa *high 5* I loved the first episode the most, it was hilarious! But it grew a lot more serious in the later episodes that it was kinda sad to watch. Like the unreachable relationship Freddie had with Effy, Effy's own problems with her family, how JJ was always the unimportant one, and most importantly, I hate how Naomi always treat Emily like shit. I just cant stand that. And yeah, Cook is a bastard, in my opinion. But luckily, it all turned out great at the end, so that was great.
Oh I watched it off some Chinese website, since the offical website restricted viewers only within UK, that sucks.

See...I'm the opposite. I liked how it got more serious but still maintained a lot of fun and laughs in the mix. And I liked Freddie in the first episode but then...I don't know something happened and he got annoying to me and so I couldn't buy into the whole thing he had with Effy. How he loved her but....he hardly even knew her. So....yeah, I do agree with you about JJ he was treated pretty horribly by everybody except for Emily.
I also took the Naomi and Emily situation in a completely different way. What I saw was, that yes Naomi did hurt Emily at times but only because she was scared of her own feelings which seemed to appear out of nowhere. I think that is how Naomi is as a person. She is afraid of needing someone else and depending on someone else. She's so use to being on her own and being strong that to need someone is scary for her. And then with Emily sort of pressuring her to come out with their relationship she's afraid of doing that because she doesn't know how to label herself and she doesn't want other people to do it for her before she really has a hold on what and who she is.
And yes totally agreement that Cook is a bastard. Especially in the Camping Episode. But I like him...which is weird cause I thought I'd totally hate him from the first episode.
Oh, and one last thing (because this is getting entirely too long) I thought the last episode really sucked especially considering it was the finale. I think the episode before it would've made a much better finale because it answered some questions but it also created some more questions. It felt like a good episode and it had most of the cast in it. Not like the real finale that only had half of them.

Yeah, we had a completely different viewpoint on the same show, which is interesting. I actually hated Cook and loved Freddie, who appears to be the only sane person, except in the masturbation scene LOL
Kudoes for the thorough analysis! You took a much more empathic view while I'm just being harsh :P I think Naomi's fear of dependence is her own problem, she shouldn't have, by any means, used that as an excuse for hurting someone else who loved her dearly. I admire Emily on the other hand, for her persistence pursuing her love, and her courage of facing her sister, even though she was such a pussy in the first few episodes. Yeah, that's what I like the most about Skins, for there's a lot of growth in characters.
Now that you mentioned it, yeah, the 9th episode would make a better ending, even though we'll have to leave out Effy and Cook. The best part in the finale is when Cook kicked his dad off the boat, that was exhilarating LOL Now I cant wait for the next seaon, when's it coming out btw?

I agree that Freddie was probably one of the most sane person on the show...I think that's part of the problem for me. He was a little too normal.
Thanks. And I agree with you that Naomi can in no way use her issues as an excuse for hurting Emily. But I think it's a pretty realistic situation I'm sure that there have been some Oasians that have been in similar situations. I also liked Emily a lot, more so as the show went on. the only thing I didn't like was the way that she almost felt stalker-ish at points. To me anyways. haha. But I like her. I loved her the most in the 9th episode, especially the family dinner scene. I was rooting her on. her mother on the other hand is a total bee-otch. "he loves them, like fierce" Hahaha.
They could've maybe somehow reversed the 9th and 10th episodes or something. To me the 10th wasn't much of a finale especially since they only had 4 of the characters in it. But you probably liked it more considering you liked the Effy-Freddie romance. I felt that the 9th episode had a good beginning, middle, and a great ending. But probably because I completely fell for the Naomi-Emily romance throughout the season. But it was also really funny, had great writing and featured most of the cast. Emily's brother was awesome "fannies, it's full of fannies!". The little kids in these shows can be obnoxious but he was great. And the writers gave him great lines.
And yes, when Cook kicked his dad off the boat I was like ya! Go Cook! It was great to see him do that to his no good father :] I believe, but don't quote me! lol, that the 4th season should start airing in January, 2010. I can't wait to see what they do with all the characters and relationships. January can't come quick enough :)

I know, everyone else seem to have just came out of a mental hospital, which is what makes the show tick in the first place. Freddie does hold a lot of negativity, but he also keeps the show in a good sanity balance.
WOW you showed so much understanding to Naomi's situation, maybe I should be a little less judgemental as well. But then again, I was feeling bad for Emily rather than accusing Naomi. Oh yeah, she was a little stalkerish at times, which reminded me of one thing that always baffled me: Don't they ever have homeworks to complete or tests to study for? I mean, it was a touch too unrealistic for these kids to be always hanging around bars and parties all night. I guess that's why it's called a show.
LOL The family scene was hilarious! Her dad was soo funny, but yeah, her mom is a bitch, so was her sister. Oh and her brother is unbelievable indeed. Kids are maturing so fast these days, ayyy...
I don't know why but I just wasn't buying the romance between Naomi and Emily. Maybe I would've if it wasn't so sad to watch all the time until the end. And it's funny how some bigots claim that the popularization of gay culture makes teengers nowadays gay. If that's true, then why hasn't all the gay people turn straight with guy-girl kissing scenes looming in every corner of media? Bet they can't fathom that. LOL
Don't worry, there's always another season to hope for. I just hope they won't change the characters. 2010 sounds like faraway. I didn't even get enough of 2009 :P Let us keep our fingers crossed =)

It can definitely be a little over the top and weird but it's good. And most of the characters are likable and interesting. Aside from Freddie....no offence if you like him!
