I'm coming out to some of my friends, and i've run out of "start-ups". So please, your classical lines to come out to your friends!!!
I'll appreciate the help.
I had told my best friend earlier that there was something really important I needed to tell her, you know, to prepare her. Then she said.. I'd still love you if you were a lesbian. randomly. I left.
so I called her that night, and it took a lonnnng time with a bunch of metaphors. haha. like arrows and happy paths and stuff. :) but she guessed it, of course. and everything was a lot better.
I was kinda like hey I'm gay just to let you guys know. And they were cool with it. Sometimes saying it straight out (ha ha sorry) is the best approach.
I just ranted for hours about how much I hated boys until my friends asked me if I was ever going to date one, or if I was a lesbian, and that was that... you know how I answered.
for me... it was a lot of tears, and "i'm.. gay" for most of them.
for others, "hey, you know how you asked who i like? well, her name is..."
and, of course, for my bestest friend, we were in the middle of a conversation and i blurted, "i like girls" or "i'm gay" halfway through a sentence.
for my first two friends i came out to, i drew the bi symbol on my hand and i asked them "you know what this symbol means?" having it there gave me the strength to tell them. of course, now i don't know *what* i am, but that's entirely a different story.

If you drew the bi symbol and showed it to me, I wouldn't know what it was either...
Since I'm in Thailand now, it's kind of fun telling new people you're gay on a regular basis, when back home it's a known quantity. Of course, it's not a big deal what strangers would think anyway, but everyone has been fine.

...it comes to light with something along the lines of, "well, there's this girl I like..."
Although, on various occasions, I have come out directly ("I'm gay"), by asking friends what they'd think if I wanted to date girls, by leading into it with something that's been happening (e.g. Prop 8), and, on one memorable occasion, during a game of Truth or Dare. (That was to my absolute best friends, though — I'd been wanting to let the cat out of the bag and just happened to have the chance. They were totally cool with me, but I don't recommend that method under normal circumstances! :-) )
