I wouldn't be able to deal with my family calling me by my old name. or female pronouns. Most of my family gets it right now... (I've made a lot of efforts to educate them though. Writing letters and whatnot. ) But my grandparents on my moms side, and my moms boyfriend, apparently call me "she" when I'm not around... I've never even met my moms boyfriend. I can't stand that. I mean, it's excusable for people to slip up and stuff because they knew me before. But I've never met this guy, and he probably didn't hear about me until after I came out, and he still calls me a girl. Which is just outright disrespectful. XP
I've been out for a year now. My dad has been more than fantastic about it. At first he would call me stuff like "kid" and "offspring" even, too. But after a few months he got used to calling me 'son' and stuff too. I don't think whether or not you're on hormones or how many surgeries you've had should sway how people see you or what they call you. XP
I've also been on hormones for about five months, and I hope that I'll be able to get top surgery soon. (Money is a problem XP) You're lucky to have an adams apple already. It'll probably get a little bigger on hormones but not a whole lot. Most of the trans guys I know don't have one.

Sexuality is weird like that. I don't want to think about the amount of times I came out. Before I was like "I'm bi", but then I thought I only liked girls. So I told everyone I was gay. And then I came out as trans and everyone thought I was straight, but I came out as bi again a few weeks later. And THEN I realized that I don't really like girls. So I came out as gay. But seriously, don't worry too much about who you like and who you don't like or what to call yourself. I figure, when you do like someone, you'll know, and that's what counts right? Transitioning does make things more clear because it gets a lot of insecurities out of the way and whatnot. But don't worry too much about how you'll feel later or whatever, it'll come to you. And you can just go with the flow until it does.
I'm pretty laid back most of the time but when people aren't respectful to me and my male identity that's pretty much where it ends. Though I'm generally very polite when I'm explaining to people why they're wrong. :P
Haha, I used to get a lot of that. Like, I'd be talking to some people I just met, and they'd turn to say something about me to someone else and they'd completely fumble the pronouns. Or avoid them all together. That actually doesn't bother me too much. I mind when people read me as female. But I don't care if they can't figure it out. :P
I'm sixteen. I turn seventeen in November. :)
And yeah, us trans people have to stick together. Before I met other trans guys I was going nuts. It's nice to have someone to relate to.
