okay, so for those of you who don't know, Tamora Pierce is my favorite author....i've been reading her books since i was 7. i ADORE her. she's got more than 20 books out right now, set in two different worlds. anyway.

i just got her newest book yesterday (as you might've heard in my excited journal :P), and am a little more than halfway through it....

in one of her other newer books, Will of the Empress, one of her main characters finds out that she's a lesbian. WHICH IS AMAZING. at least, i thought so.

but even MORE amazing??? in this newest book, Bloodhound? SHE HAS A TRANS CHARACTER!!!!!!!!!

like, OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! at first you just know that he's gay.....and then you find out that he's a crossdresser, and then the main character, Beka, is talking to him, and she's like "you look like such a beautiful woman" (or something like that) and he goes "that's because on the inside, i AM a beautiful woman." and then he goes on to explain how the gods "played a trick" on him when he was in the womb, and now he's in the wrong body.

i seriously had a mini heart attack when i read that.

i LOVE tamora right now. she has written the stories that have shaped my life, and now she's writing books about ME and my people! well, okay, not ABOUT LBGT folk, but hey, give her a break. she's straight. but she's willing to put us into her books! not make a big deal out of it, just....calmly write about it!

how fucking awesome is that?
