At the GSA convention, I saw this really cute and seemingly cool gay boy and coincidentally found his profile on facebook, so I friended him. I wrote a little bit on his wall a couple days ago saying hi, I saw you at the convention, just thought I'd drop you a friend request, etc. I was looking back at his profile today and...he deleted what I wrote. I don't understand. Am I that appalling that I can't even touch his chaste and perfect facebook wall? I thought I was pretty cute and a good guy, but I guess I'm not to him...? Do you guys understand why he did that? I don't get it.

maybe he is a closet case?

Yeah...
Could be closeted... there are a lot of gay guys who are very open where it's safe (bars, neighborhoods, clubs, etc.), but around their group of friends and other areas, that's not part of their gay-approved zone.
I wouldn't take anything that happens on Facebook as a personal affront.
See how he reacts to a message instead, not public.

Since you don't know him very well, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Maybe send a friendly message, say hi again, see if that gets a different response. He might be closeted, or he might have met so many people at the convention that he's confused about who you are.
Although, sometimes people just have their own reasons and there's no real way to understand. :-(

Nope, he's totally out and
Nope, he's totally out and it says so on his profile. I agree, Splash - I just met him and it probably isn't worth my time to worry about it. He could just be a totally weird person.

Maybe he is seeing someone
Maybe he is seeing someone else and afraid they would see your message on his wall and get the wrong idea? Maybe for some reason he is hiding being at the convention? Even if he is out maybe he was meant to be somewhere else when he was there? I'd say send him a private message and see what the story is then?
