These people just make me laugh because I MYSELF can use scripture to beat ANY argument they can make...they are actually QUITE funny! It's kind of sad too...I'm not sure what they are trying to accomplish here...

I move the name of the thread gets changed and the link moves into the text — if I were a potential newbie I would NOT want to see Fred Phelps' website at the top of the forum! :-)
I tried going to the WBC site exactly once, but the security add-on I've installed in Firefox wouldn't let me — said it was a known dangerous site or something. I found that funny.
I agree it's sad that they base their whole church around hating people like us, but I figure it's not really worth my time to read their website. They're not going to change their minds... and besides, the more attention they get, the more power they have.

I think Fred Phelps has helped the gay community more than hurt it. I think he sets the bar so far over the edge, that people who might otherwise be swayed by religious arguments hear him and shift further to the center.

This guy is not a Christian. He has no business even trying to represent Christianity. Even the majority of legit clergy denounce him. HE will have more to explain at the pearly gates than the group he's been targeting. That guy's a sicko.
laramie project
I went to plattsburgh new York to see the production of the Laramie project, and he had protesters there. before the play we had a unity rally, a kind of anti-protest, though I never got to see the actual protesters.
I find it amusing that he has managed to be banned from the entire UK. he has also been arrested several times and his church is a registered hate group, and considered a cult, they are not part of any higher religious institution. Also, another tidbit, he will be portrayed as a villain i nan upcoming horror film.
