Facebook page, cuz it's the law...

I started a fan page on Facebook for Oasis (yes, we already had a group, but it's all but abandoned).

Will mainly be the articles at the top of the page (Indigo Girls, Semi Precious Weapons, etc.) linked for now. But who knows what else will take place...

As you would expect from such a thing, though, it does lead to a lot of... who is this person? who is that person? Since there is no Nanook on Facebook, etc. We all use, gasp, real names!!!

Anyway, it's here if you care: http://www.new.facebook.com/pages/Oasis-Journals/71982462124?ref=nf

If this site is ever down, that's where you'll know whassup, btw.

You can manually block

You can manually block people from seeing stuff on the Privacy Settings option (top-right corner of the page, to the right of your name). There you'll find something that ought to be alike to 'Profile settings' they let you hide whatever you want from there. Remember, nonetheless, that unless you opt out of your wall posts appearing in your friend's home, any wall post you make in the fan page may and will probably show up in your friend's home.

Oh, Jeff, and by the way,

Oh, Jeff, and by the way, you should also Twitter Oasis. Twitter's addictive and Oasis is great, so that'd make a great combo.

Uhh...

I don't even understand what that means...

So a single rant by Adam would be converted into 1,289 140-character messages?

I am avoiding Twitter. I'm on Facebook enough. So far everyone I know who's into Twitter are the people I want to hear less information from overall. I don't think that's a coincidence.

Nooo. I don't mean Tweeting

Nooo. I don't mean Tweeting everything, but you could post links to the articles with a small description, it'd be a good way of attracting people. You know, something like 'interview with whomever -gay actor (or whatever) on Oasis (and you insert the shortened link here)'.

Oh...

So the same thing I do on Facebook, just the articles...

If I can automate it, that's fine. Facebook sucks the content in automatically, so I'm not involved directly.

Hmm... I don't know if you

Hmm... I don't know if you can do that. I guess there are way of connecting Twitter and facebook, but I don't know them. You'd have to shorten the links and write the 140 or fewer characters yourself, though.

I don't think I want my friends on facebook finding out about here. I would feel weird if they could read through my stuff. Thats just me though.

Well...

It usually works the other way around, speaking from the flip side. When people join the oasis group, more often than not, I'm wondering who people are on here.

So, yes, if you become a fan of oasis on facebook, your friends could see that. But as to them figuring out who you are on here, or if you have an account on here seems more unlikely.
