Pre-Xmas Dinner Entry

Merry Coming Christmas!

I'm sans-family here in the city for a temporary work placement, so I'm going over to a new acquaintances' tonight for Christmas dinner and then Christmas morning breakfast! I'm bringing a bottle of 2006 L'Oratoire domaine St Martin red from Cotes du Rhone. Sadly, haven't figured out how to do the accent letters yet... soon to come, though! Mm, and vanilla almond milk for dairy-free crepes to eat in the morning (way better than using soy milk, I hear). I might have to bring butter, in case they only have salted butter or margerine or something. Butter! How hard is that to keep around the house?! And so many people don't, it's sad.

Now, the wine... it was suggested to me after I mentioned I like Nipozzano, along with another red from California (can't remember the name). Apparently it has some nice earthy tones, and you can really taste the blueberries and blackberries in there. It's rich. That's all I remember of the description... I'll try it tonight, and we shall see. *grins*

Now, advice I got for trying to get into knowing wines well:

How do you eat an elephant? ...... One bite at a time!

I wish I had a live tree... maybe they do? We usually celebrate New Year's rather than Christmas, but either way the smell and care of pine in the house is one of my favourite things about the holidays.

Alright, off to getting dressed for some awesome genderfucking or drag or something.

Have a great Christmas eve and morning, all!
