I checked out Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist this weekend, and was pleased to find that all of Nick's friends are his gay bandmates. As the bass player for The Jerkoffs, Nick (Michael Cera) is the only straight member in the band. But none of the gay characters are very stereotypical, just very open about their sexuality.
And, Aaron Yoo as gay is something I certainly support... :-)
This shouldn't be a surprise since the novel upon which it's based was co-written by David Leviathan, who has written many a gay YA novel.
Worth a look...
FUCK OFF, MICHAEL CERA!!!
i am sick of u!
u play the exact same character in every one of your movies (and ur TV sho)!
u are over-rated and becoming so annoying!
you will never be a great actor, so quit now while ur ahead.
Err...

It's so true, character of his was the same, but not nearly as funny as George-Michael in Arrested Development, his one great accomplishment.

Be yourself. 'Cause if you're busy being somebody else, who's gonna be you?

I'm excited to go see the movie.. have to have time to see it been very busy with work and all... Rachel Cohn (the other co-writer) often has gay characters in her books so the gay theme is very unsurprising given both of their YA book history. I like their book the Ely and Naomi's no kiss list.. it's pretty good. Gay guy- straight girl. straight girl wants gay guy.. they kind of have a will and grace thiing going on.

This was a really good movie! I loved it! I liked how they made being gay not a big deal and they weren't stereotypical at all.
I liked how when Nick and one of his friends was sitting in the back of their van and were holding hands and 2 girls holding hands walk by and like raise their hands up in support.
