sitting here contemplating what i can possibly live without.
asceticism has always fascinated me. the idea of complete and utter simplicity, it's such a freeing notion, isn't it? a life uncluttered by material possessions.
is it even possible in this day and age?
you could do it metaphorically. abstain from carnal pleasures, sex, rich foods, etc....
well, i suppose that isn't so much metaphorical as it is impermanent pleasures.
but still, you know what i mean. my few faithful readers will probably remember i've tried to abstaining thing many times before. all unsuccessful.
i dunno....maybe if i just take it one step at a time. or approach it like i do a story. "well...what if..."
what if i stopped drinking caffeinated drinks?
what if i stopped drinking sodas?
what if i stopped eating fatty foods?
what if i started exercising?
what if i stopped watching porn?
what if i stopped masturbating?
what if i stopped watching television?
what if i stopped getting on the internet all the damn time?
what if...
what if...
what if...
what would happen?
just steps. just phases. get through one. go on to the next. phase things out. cold turkey just doesn't work.
i dunno. just something to think about...

Fuck that shit. It claims to
Fuck that shit. It claims to find inner peace and inner spirituality, but deep down inside, we're humans. We like what we like and there's a reason for it. Sex feels good, so we make babies. Food tastes good, so we eat it. It's neither good or bad; neither foul nor fair. Some may say it's subfusc, even ignorant, but that's bullshit.
I can tell you right now, that abstaining leads to nothing but failure.
Have you ever participated
Have you ever participated in abstinence for Lent? It's kind of a Catholic thing, and often it doesn't mean anything, but it could.
Once you go all the levels of abstinence, what's left? I was always afraid it would just be nothing.
i think...
caffiene, soda, fat, porn, masturbation, TV, and the 'net are all fine in moderation...
i indulge in all of those things from time-to-time...
and let's face it: i'm pretty fucking awesome.
but you should definetely start exercising. i exercise. everyone should exercise. it's just healthy, plus it makes you feel stronger (physically and mentally) and sexier.
