l'automne

i ache for fall. for the leaves changing. finally being able to slip into a jacket, only to shed it like a second skin as the temperature rises with the sun. leaves crunching underfoot, seeing your breath in the early morning air. jack-o-lanterns and children dressed as ghouls and superheroes. corn mazes and finally getting into a pattern at school.

even the sky's different in fall. it seems bluer. deeper. colder. as if you were about to dive into the ocean.

Great description of my absolute favorite season...I like especially the first 3-4 lines.

I can't wait to get home and out of the horrible Florida sun. Not to mention that autumn in New England is beautiful. :)

You make me impatient for the changing of seasons as well. I like how autumn smells. And I miss the cold. And sweaters. (Of course I miss sweaters, more layers means my chest is less obvious. >_>;) I also miss my school friends and drama club.

Me too

Fall and spring are my two favorite seasons, and I look forward to both every year. Recently I relocated, and my camera is ready to capture the changing seasons thanks to the surprising number of trees that are in my little pocket of the city.

I always think I'm getting a tiny glimpse of something larger, which reinforces the feeling of a disconnect from nature and the rest of the non-human world. This feeling is heightened during fall for all the reasons you described above and more, but at the same time I am simply dazzled by the slice of what I do perceive and experience. Its powerful.
