butterfly is freakin' HARD! that's why i don't do it. i just do lots of dolphin kick with my arms out in front of me & hands together, with breaststroke pull to take a breath. u dont go as fast as butterfly, but it's a really good workout! altho i'm sure ur deranged-cow-stroke does look quite fabulous.
