Day of Silence 2008
Sooooo. Day of Silence. (Wiki if you're not familiar.) Yeahhhh. Day of Silence is a great thing. I did it last year. I really want to do it this year. I'm going to take it to the next level and not write notes, not communicate at all. Because I think it's a really great idea and a really great cause.
Except. It's on April 25th.
That's right. Day of Silence, the great GLBT event that we all look forward to, that awareness-raising, right-of-passage event...

ARGH. How fucking USELESS is that? How the fuck are we supposed to make a statement when we'd all be sitting around in our underwear on Oasis anyway? BOO!

This has happened to me a couple of times. I usually just piss off my family by not speaking all day...It's usually a good time...But...I hope Oasis isn't silent on that day or else we'll be REALLY effed.
Pronouns make it hard to keep our sexual orientation a secret when our co-workers ask about your weekend.

Actually, though, I don't think I'd be participating anyway, unless for the sheer intellectual challenge of having to mime everything. Silence sounds pretty counterintuitive if you want action, don't you think?

I've given up the argument of silence being a strange political action. But, I grew up wearing a SILENCE=DEATH T-Shirt, so I already picked sides.

My school doesn't do spring break.
So that isn't an issue for us.
But yeah do what Jeff said and pick a day near that.
