College Homework...can I ask you Oasians a question?

Okay, so I have a homework assignment. Yada, yada, boring, boring. I'll spare you the details and just get to the point. I am asked to write about what communities I belong to. Obviously, the hispanic community, but would I be considered part of the gay community? Would it be bad to write about that?

Err...

You are part of it. Bad? Not really. Just remember, can always be a "stand up and read your essay" thing, so do whatever is in your comfort zone.

No, I don't think so.

No, I don't think so. You're part of that community and that is a major community. It's not the "I like socks community" which I honestly would be worried about your writing skills if you included that in your essay ;-) Last year for English I had to write about what defined me and I chose my being gay. The teacher was cool with it because her sister's a lesbian so she's open to the queer community. Does your professor seem like a queer friendly person? Even if she/he wasn't it would be against the law (I think) if she/he would mark you down because of that.

I dunno, I've only had one

I dunno, I've only had one class with her so far and she's a graduate student so things are kinda unclear on her. Well, it asks to compare communities we belong to, so I guess writing about being in the gay community and the catholic community back home can do pretty good. Thanks!
