OK so a few things
1.) there is this girl, she is the clingyest thing in the world. me and my brother and sister have only known her for like three weeks and she already thinks my sister is her best friend, see's me as a big brother, and has a crush/obsesion with my brother. I like her as a friend but like one of those friends who your fine with, but only want to see them like once a month. I dont know what to do and she want to set me up with a friend of hers. My sister tried to be discrete and told her "I need to tell it to you strait and andrew is not." and she didnt understand what my sister meant. I was on a retreat over the weekend and she was hanging on me, literaly, and there are very few girls i let that close, adn she isnt one of them, but each time i she leaned on me if i tried to m,ove away i would have to move away from one of friends who was falling alseep on my (omg that sounds dirty but it really isnt) What do i do? i've already changed my screenname because so she cant contact me on aim. my bestfriend said i should come out to her adn my brother should to (he isnt gay, but this is my friends solution) and we say it runs in the family, were triplets =) so what should i do about her?

and my other questin, anyone got any good books, preferable fiction, i have like a stack of ten next to my bed but that will only last me the month at most, omg i'm such a bookworm!

I'd say come out to her. Either that, or politely tell her you're just not interested. And there's always the option to be blunt and say, "Back off, okay? You're weirding me out." But you probably don't want to do that, so... *shrugs*

I'd say just come out to her

I'd say just come out to her before she develops a crush or discontinues it from getting stronger if she does have one on you. I really don't think you should have your brother 'come out' to her though. That might cause some trouble.

yeah

yeah, that might work, it would probubly stop her from trying to set me up with her friend, none of us thought my friends plan would work, but it was an amusing thought

You have a squirrel case.

You have a squirrel case. Odds are the girl has a really messed up life as well, if she doesn't it's your lucky day, since they won't get depressive. Just push her out of your life, if she sticks to you for anything, just say 'oh, no, you can't come' and if she asks why, say it is because you don't want to. Squirrels (as to why I call them squirrels, long story) won't go away until their feeling are seriously hurt, so go ahead and make her cry!

As to books:
Paul Auster: The Book of Illusions, the New York Trilogy or Travels in the Scriptorium.
Jane Austed: besides Pride & Prejudice, Sense & Sensibility and Emma are amazing.
If you are feeling more serious, try one of Hans Magnus Enzensberger's essays or books (I recommend the Number Devil),
Or -if you like things a little bit deeper, darker, thicker and better- any book by Sandor Marai, even thought I recommend you begin reading 'The Last Encounter', but it has not been translated to English yet.

Sorry for the long comment, enjoy the books!

I know about clingy girls.

I know about clingy girls. The best thing to do is ignore her. And don't be nice about it either, you will give her the wrong message.

As for books, I wanted to read a book called "Bad Timing", but it was too intense for me. It probably would have been good though. Another book I didn't finish: The Satanic Verses by Salman Rushdie, also looked good, but I have no attention span. Also, 1984 by George Orwell, Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens (the first book I couldn't finish, but it's still a good book), Zombie by Joyce Carol Oates (very unique book), The Catcher in the Rye, and anything by Franz Kafka. I'm reading a book now called Pagan Babies, one of the main characters is gay, but I personally don't think he is representing it very well.
I wish I could read like you, I hate most books..

have you tried

to simply tell her you are gay and not interested in her or her friend other than as friends?
try it ...it might work...
then it may make her in to a fag hag...one who only wants to have sex with gay guys....i hate them...lol

Don't run away from her, and

Don't run away from her, and also- don't be spitefully cruel and mean to her. That's just immature. Instead, tell her outright how she's making you feel, be honest- tell her exactly what she's doing that's bothering you, and don't exaggerate. Try to leave out things like "you're stupid" and "you're annoying" and instead use "When you ____ it makes me feel like _____" type phrases. Explain to her that she's invading your personal boundaries.

If she persists after that, tell her you don't want to be friends with her anymore, because she can't respect your boundaries.

I think it doesn't matter TOO much if you come out to her or not. I mean, sure- go ahead if it'll make you feel good- but it's not imperative.

shadow fire's picture

Hmmm, I'd just.

I'd just make no plans to see her what so ever, if she asks why you don't want to hang out you can be honest or lie, either way (being honest will make her discontinue asking you a lot quicker) You don't need to mention that you're gay if you cut off contact with her, she'll probably stop trying to get you into her friend (but if she does then you can either say you're gay, or not interested, it really doesn't matter)

Also tell us how this situation goes as it progresses if you wouldn't mind.

A suble way to tell her your

A suble way to tell her your gay is watch a movie and point out all the guys in it that you think are hot.

If you like scifi the Dune series is really good. Do Dune, Dune Messiah, ect. first. Not the prequal Dune House Atraides stuff, its ok, but Dune is the original!

i havent seen her in a while, she's on a retreat with my sister right now and i'm not at my church that often anymore so we've been out of touch, wich is good for me.
