Dorm Assignment! :D
I haven't made a journal entry in forever, but I've just been feeling 'bleh' being sick.
I got my Housing info from Truman (the college I'm going to this fall). I'm so excited. My roommate's name is Emily, which I think is an adorable name ^.^ I'm nervous though because I don't know if I should outright tell her I'm gay, or just wait until we start living together and just be myself that she'd just figure it out. I dunno. I have her home address and phone number, so I sent her a basically random letter. I hope things work out well. I hope we become friends. I don't want to be living with someone I barely get along with.

College Roommate
Last year when I was an incoming freshman I got the room assignment notification, read my roommate's name, and thought, "Oh, that's a pretty name: maybe she'll be this gorgeous girl who is intelligent (since we're both in honors), funny, and miraculously gay, and we'll fall instantly in love and proceed to carry out a clandestine love affair within the walls of our dorm room without anyone knowing. Then, on the first day, I met her *shudder* and that thought was eradicated from my mind quicker than a flash of lightning.
Anyway, perhaps it would be best to let her get to know you a bit first, and later you could either casually bring it up, or give her enough evidence to safely infer it.

Well at least one of your problems is solved.
Now you don't have to worry about how to tell her.
I have had to come out to a few roommates now, and I like my strategy.
I leave an Out magazine somewhere where it is bound to be seen, and then if that doesn't get the conversation started.
